Description

Gated, walled, dusty, dirt parking lot with very helpful family running it and living on the premises. It can be used for short or long-term parking. We used it in late May of 2018 for short-term parking while living in the camper. We then left our Mercedes Sprinter there for 6 months. It has potable city water and they can wash your vehicle. Water pressure for potable water is low during day. Rough toilet with no seat. It’s called Garaje Alfredo (Phone: +51 984 135 789) and has 24-hour access. HUGE open Mercado (every day) four blocks away. We paid five Soles per day for both short and long-term parking. When we returned in December of 2018, the van was quite dusty but virtually as we had left it. The local police (3 blocks away) were very responsive in doing the inspection for acquiring the vehicle suspension permit and SUNAT located near the Plaza De Armas was exceptionally helpful. Family speaks Spanish only. A member of the family went with me to the police station and to SUNAT. I left them with the complete instructions for acquiring the permit to leave the vehicle..

Nice place to leave the vehicle for short or long term. We left it for a week while we were doing the Salkantay trek.
They asked 4s/night, and 2s/shower (it’s a suicide shower and it was warm). Baños free. You can also sleep there in the vehicle for the same price.
Friendly owners, available 24h/24h.
Just be aware that truckers are leaving their truck during the night. So if you come pick up your car in the evening, you might have to wait the next morning they move their truck to move out your vehicle.

Recommended. We left our car here for a total of 40 nights when leaving the country, including 4 or 5 nights sleeping in the car here. 5 soles/day, friendly and have example documents for TIP suspension should you need it. Note: we went to the sunat office in the centre, and they explained that you do not need to suspend or do anything in fact as long as you will return and drive out of the country before the expiry date. No questions or issues at immigration in Lima airport, or at the Aduana when leaving Peru with a gap between the passport stamps.
This location is far from the centre but easy to access for .80 soles on buses, likewise the airport on the road across the river (10 soles by taxi). Only issue is the ferocious dogs should you need the toilet in the night...
