Hippo Pool picnic spot | Tourist Attraction

Such a beautiful place, typical of north Moremi. Loads of hippos.
However we think the guys in charge of the maintenance have been fired a long time ago. The hide structure is so decrepit we were not sure it could handle our weight and the toilet situation well... It technically exist but don't expect much from it. I personnaly HAD to use it but obviously many people prefer to do their business outside (toilet paper everywhere).
We choose after that to keep going on the track in direction of Xakanaxa (we skept the dry road for time reason) and it was barely doable in June (almost got stuck during a river crossing).

Nice place for a coffee or a lunch break.

It was only accessible from the dry road at this period. Really Beautiful place where you can have a rest.

Inaccessible at this time of year due to high waters. Take the dry road in maps me if going to xakanaka camp

Lovely picnic spot where we stopped to have breakfast on our way out of Moremi via North Gate. Plenty of crocs sunbathing as well as hippos, red letchwe and birds. The crocs were eating a dead hippo when we were there! There’s a pit toilet here too.

Lots of hippos, some elephants, a few crocs and some birds in a large, beautiful natural pool. Really lovely place.

We had our breakfast there and were lucky to see crocodiles eating a impala. A lot of hippos are in the pool. Worth a trip.
You can go up to a wooden viewing platform.

Picnic spot at the water with toilets and a raised hide to watch the hippos, kingfishers and Lechwe!
