Description

Nice hilltop spot with panoramic views. This is the closest spot to the canyons and the Indian cliff dwellings. A little busy until nightfall then you’ll have the place to yourself. Enjoy.

Camping here is not allowed. You will get fined, and they could close this whole area to everyone.

Report Check-In

There are signs all in this area that say no camping beyond this point. We turned around and went back to a designated camping area on the same road. look for greasy spoon or Nolan

Amazing vistas if you have a capable 4WD/2WD. Probably not a class a or c destination. 2 bars. Yes, tours by pink jeeps all day long who love to stop and take pictures from here too.

Nice secluded spot a few miles down 525 forest road. Great views and quiet at night. 1-2 bars of service.

great views.. a little busy,. many tours

other reviews are spot on. the views are incredible! the further in you go down this road the closer you get to the red rocks. there aren't many spots further in than this one though. the first Jeep tour drove by at 8:45am and were pretty consistent all day. close access to hikes and a helluva view in every direction.

Great spot! Stayed one night. 2wd van. Gets rocky at the top. Keep going tho. Totally worth it. Get there by 7 after the last tours finish

The best spot hands down!
...
Once you make it to the top that is. The road gets suuupeer bumpy. It literally took my van 50 minutes and from. Drove a front wheel Promaster and was little worried it wasn’t going to make it up the biggest hill. But the views were almost worth it. I think so.
It does get pretty busy with your ATVs but it will eventually die down. Definitely a must if you take your time and have a van.

AWESOME site. Can get really busy on weekends, but amazing views, good people, and quite clean. Bonus - great US Cellular cell service. Close to lots of good hikes and civilization! Could stay here for a long time

Camped here for almost a week. Loved the view. Was a little windy at times but nothing too bad. There are about 5-6 Jeep tours a day, worse some days than others. They do tend to get really close to your camp, and sometimes walk through it. We didn't mind, but I can see how that would be annoying.

Nice spot, and great views. We were able to bike from here to the Honanki ruins (which meant we got in for free) without much trouble. There were a few other folks here and everyone was pleasant which made us feel safe (two female travelers). There are jeep and four wheeler tours stopping here pretty much on the hour from 10am to sunset, but otherwise the evening is quiet.

Incredible view. Just don’t bother staying for more than the view unless you enjoy constant parts of tourists being brought in. I thought I found paradise. Heh. No.

great location and huge campsite! can see views of the red rocks in all directions

Certainly has the best panoramic views. We made it up in our 2wd sprinter. Please, remember to bring a trowel with you and dig a cat hole 6in deep for your poop or pack it out.

Was super busy so went a little farther down the road to find a spot.

Very awesome spot! Good room for 4 separate parties.

In the morning to noon, since this is on a flat at the top of a hill, there's high winds, so a tent might fly off. The ground is hard so you can't just use stake it. Use rocks around to hold your tent down.

Jeep tours come here to visit during the day. In general, this is a high traffic area.

I came here with my 4x4 Toyota, but a 2wd vehicle will be just fine getting here. High clearance not required.

Air down and up for comfort. It's a

It’s ok I guess. You probably shouldn’t go there. About the best view ever.

360°vista views. spectacular top of hill location. couple fire pits. Windy, cold and wet right now but still amazing.

Amazing spot with the best views! It’s at the top of a hill so cell service is pretty good. It is busy during the days with lots of tour groups coming for the best photos, but as said at night it is silent with no one around. Close to hiking.
