Description

Just before going over the bridge, you keep going straight to the water caves. Really cool place. While holding a candle to light your way, you walk, climb, swim and jump all through the cave. We went on a Sunday when there was a big tour group inside. It was unfortunately really crowded at times which sort of took away from the magic of it all. But still 100% worth it!! 60Q per person. You can do tubing after for 10Q as well (still accurate 08/2021). There's a rope swing too.

Very cool to go through the caves with candles. Some recommendations though: Watch the weather, I am not sure how prepared they are for sudden flash floods inside the cave, trash at the ceiling shows you that the cave can get completely flooded. Bring an extra light: The atmosphere is much nicer with candles (we used only the candles on the way in and the light on the way out), but to see the size of some rooms a light is helpful. I would recommend taking a guide. The route is pretty straight forward, but you have no idea what kind of sharp rocks lurk under the water. If you don't want to go with the pushy and annoying guides waiting at the bridge you can message or ask around for Alex (phone: +502 3747 7883) he is a friendly dude and offered to do the tour with us for a propina. We gave him 80Q, no idea if that was more or less than he expected, because he didn't count it when we gave it to him.

It’s is totally worth it! Went in there with low expectations but ale out with a smile... you have to be reasonably fit as there are ladders to climb and tight areas to pass through. Bring swim shoes or be prepared to get you shoes wet... it’s a swimming / muddy adventure, enjoy!

Even if you are not interested in a cave tour it’s well worth to visit this place. There is a beautiful footpath along the river leading to the place where the underground river comes back up and a nice pool in the river where you can swim safely. Entrance fee is Q10 pp.

Highly recommended!! We took a tour for the water pools and caves combined...the cave tour was our favorite by far!!! The combined tour was 15Q more than if you did everything yourself, but the guide was excellent and helpful in pointing out things (like the high places to jump into the river).
