Probably the nicest place at Iskander-Kul. Nobody around here. I have not seen anyone for days. Further up next to a house which was started building but never got finished also possible with truck. 4x4 could help to get up but 4x2 could also work.
User reports: Unimog and even slightly bigger rigs will do it

As described, amazing camp spot looking out over the lake and mountains. Lots of firewood around if you’re here in off season.
Report Check-InThe most beautiful spot around the lake is here. You have an amazing view of the lake and of the snow-capped mountain in front of you and no one around. The descend for this place from "the main road" might be a little tricky if you have a 2wd, and high clearance is required. Picture perfect spot!
Report Check-InBeautiful spot indeed. There are several flat spots. We stayed at the lowest one. The gravel road is very narrow and tough for a 2wd vehicle. The road to the lowest spot is even more narrow & steep - can recommend it only for Landcruiser size vehicles with 4wd & high ground clearance.
Currently the lake is flooded and not that blue as it normally is. But still very nice. Many mosquitos in the evening.
Very beautiful place that you could easily spend some days. Unfortunately, there were A LOT of (house) flies - previous people had left their food waste behind. I took us 35 min to go around the lake to get to the spot.
Report Check-InWonderful spot with amazing views. The road there is quite narrow and especially the last few hundred meters are quite overgrown. So if its too narrow for you, there are other spots just before this location with views just as wonderful.
Report Check-InWe’ve been on the road for 11 months now and this spot is definitely under our top 3 places. It’s absolutely stunning. We made it with a 2WD, but it was tough. Especially going back up the hill.
Report Check-InPerfect view over the lake from this spot. Really
beautiful. We went here with an old sprinter sized 2WD van, but it was a bit challenging. The upper part of the road has some off camber turns and the lower part is a slope with loose rocks. Not terrible, but turning after you passed the helipad is not possible untill you’re all the way down. So depending on the weather conditions it might be good to check the track first. Easy peasy with 4WD I guess.
A magic place with great views of the lake and mountains behind. The best spot we have stayed at since leaving Paris one year ago. We were all alone and silence was profound. Lots of bird life. To get here you need to drive around the lake on its west side, pass a big white house on in the south west corner, cross a bridge and turn left, drive past a helipad and later take the left fork and pass a semi-built house and you have arrived.
Report Check-InVery nice place. Superb view of Krasnyk Zor (4746m) right across the lake.
Report Check-InWe did it with a Unimog and even slightly bigger rigs will do it.
Report Check-InIndeed a very nice place with a great view on the lake.
The only problem is that in late july there were just too many mosquitos. Definitely I recommend to have some anti mosquitos spray.
Place not reachable since the road in the forest was flooded for at least 200m. Stayed at the ‘alternative spot’.
Report Check-InGreat spot! We stood a little bit higher. Lots of flies. Ample room. Great view. In the evening two local couples joined us. In the morning they told us last year there was a group og Dutchmen staying here.
Report Check-InDefinitely agree that this is the most beautiful (and quiet) spot! You can drive(4x4/small cars) even more down closer to the water if you take the small path at the left side of the house. Here you find a big flat area where you can park/pitch your tent and you are totally out of sight!
Report Check-InCamped here for one night. Walked down a goat trail to be at lake level. Nice sheltered spot for a tent and a few firepits. Very private. About 9.5km around the lake.
Report Check-InProbably the nicest place at Iskander-Kul. Nobody around here. I have not seen anyone for days. Not for big rigs. Sprinter size is about maximum. Further up next to a house which was started building but never got finished also possible with truck. 4x4 could help to get up but 4x2 could also work.
