Description

Gravel parking on top of the mountain plateau, beautiful view on over 3000m. It goes without saying that you are exposed to weather and colder nights even in summer. No mosquitos and nice trails to lakes and streams nearby. No facilities but easy short dirt road access from road 212.

beautiful panoramic view! lovely sunset. didn’t spot any big wild animals, but i heard wolves. large gravel lot, only one other car parked here (but they’re probably hiking because no one is around). the short road coming in has some deep ruts in it, so drive with caution, our 2WD van did fine taking it slow and strategic. higher elevation, so definitely cools off at night and above the tree line. surprisingly there were a ton of mosquitos in the evening?! no pit toilet. no at&t.

Still a great spot. Several vehicles parked unattended overnight (guess they're off on a long hike) but we were alone here at peak season when the other NF spots in the valley were very busy. Beautiful sunrise.

Easy-to-find dirt road to a gravel parking lot; on the top of the plateau after you drive the tight hairpin curves down below (beautiful, beautiful place). The sunset here was incredible. One other car parked with us, but they must have been out camping because we never saw anyone that night. The dirt road is a bit rough in places, but the next morning we saw plenty of less rugged looking vehicles making the trip with ease. Hiking trail starts at the parking lot so we were greeted around 9 with visiting traffic and even a horse trailer. Early morning was perfect though.

EPIC SPOT! We parked at designated spot, and hiked about 300m to the peak, overlooking the valley. There is ample room for tent, and room for camper in main lot but no turn around options so you will need to U-turn. (Water washed road out but still room to park a few vehicles. A truck with a bit of a lift and 4x4 could make it across easily, my Honda could not.
