Something not right?

Description

Wooded car camping spots with established fire rings and areas to park. Road to campsites can fit a full size truck, and does not require much clearance. Would not recommend trailers. Can be muddy after a rain. We made it in a Dodge Sprinter 2 wheel drive just fine.

Latest Check-Ins

I stayed in the last site by the creek. I was quiet and a very clean site. I checked out the area by the ski lift. It seemed alright but I am glad I did not stay there. There were logging trucks running through the ski lift road at 7 am.

Found this without too much trouble. Took the paved road and then at the bend you take the second road that goes to the right. The first one goes up the hill to the logging road. We took the first spot on the left. Didn’t have a fire because of high fire danger.

I stayed next to the ski lift on the logging road because I didn’t want to be next to a large group camping. (They weren’t loud and they left the site very clean. There was at least 12 in their group so they kind of took over the whole area). I just needed a spot to be alone and clean my van and do repairs and I thought this was the spot but surprisingly it was very busy during the day with hikers and 4-Wheelers. I did hike to the original spot and they seem nice but very dusty since it is so dry. Nothing for T-Mobile. This place is super clean, let’s keep it that way! :)

Very nice spot, secluded but close to I-90. We found it easily. There is a fire ring and a path that goes to the river.

Absolutely lovely place, fire pits, deer, lush green all over and super convenient location. we went to the dirt road but could not find a spot that was level so we actually went back to the “main road” and found a couple pull outs with fire rings there.

3 or 4 great campsites along second dirt road, we liked the last one where the road dead ends. It is just below the fork in the first road and a few steps from the creek making for peaceful sounds and easy water filtration. walked part of the first road, did not see any great sites but if you follow the road and stay right at the fork you will come to a clearing for the ski lift, no fire ring but room for a midsize rig. no T-Mobile coverage

Large campsite next to creek and has a fire pit. about a mile down a narrow dirt road on the way to portal. we passed a group at the very beginning with a 5th wheel. I would not take that down the dirt road. road is inn goid shape and we were there after a lot of rain, just very narrow.

Report Check-In

The second dirt road was still too narrow for our truck bed camper, so we kept driving to the end of the pavement and there is one spot for one vehicle/small rig where the road dead ends.

Great location to camp for the night when we were coming through the area. Follow directions, when you come to the spot in the paved road, take the 2nd right (which is a dirt road) and you'll find several camp sites with fire rings. If you go up the 1st right, its steep gravel and leads you up to active logging roads, there wasn't anything up there we found or would recommend. A lot of highway noise until it gets late but you can't complain too much for a free and safe site. Creek nearby. We camped on a Monday night and had the place to ourselves but did hear logging trucks early in the morning.

Great wooded area. plenty of Fire wood. There was trash piled in the fire pit. we cleaned up the first campsite. Second and Third campsites were clean.
