No more problem with dogs present. Have been here for two days and are staying for one more night. Very nice rustic campsite right on the beach. Fidel is very nice and funny. No problems, would come back here.

Report Check-In

There is a serious problem with dogs at this location, the neighbour has six shepherds, and at least one husky that run rampant and are a total menace to the campsite. One even came up and took my dinner off the table next to my vehicle. If you have pets, this area should be avoided until the problemis corrected…

Report Check-In

Needs some TLC. The entrance resembles a building site! We were welcomed by 4 dogs. Two were tied up and the other two ran next to our RV barking wildly. Other dogs arrived from neighboring properties. The Palapas were delapidated. Did not check out the restrooms as that meant walking past the barking dogs.
Decided to stay at the campsite 500 meters further north.

Report Check-In

Sitio agradable para acampar. Limpio, con baños y duchas de agua caliente. Hemos pasado la noche solos alli. 400 pesos con electricidad y todos los sevicios. Para todo tipo de vehiculos

Report Check-In

Very close to the beach. We met Fidel, very nice! He showed us the palapa which was the only one of 3 left with power, but it was 110 so we asked to stay further away from the others since there was so much empty space. Fidel is renovating some of the property currently. We didn’t use the bathrooms but once, and did not use the showers. That would be the first thing I would suggest renovating.
The 3 palapas on the beach front are also right by the beach access road so lots of traffic on Saturday & Sunday. We stayed 3 nights just to enjoy a mostly deserted beach on Monday. We have never seen so many Pelicans!! And lots of sand dollars. We really enjoyed our time there, not use to people driving on the beach so that took some getting use to especially some speeding with children playing… and sadly leaving their trash behind. We picked up lots everyday.
The evenings cooled off so we could sleep with the windows off, and listen to the waves.

Report Check-In

We spent tree nights at this place and Fidel is just such a nice and funny guy! The Wi-Fi wasn’t working first, but he called the company and then if was!
If you are looking for a safe place directly at the beach stop here!

Report Check-In

Place is ok, was the only one here. Fidel is a nice guy, has two security and agressive dogs, but they were leashed when I got here with my dogs. Wifi isn’t working, electricity is ok (15amp) didnt use the water. Paid 200 pesos. Beach must be nice with a good weather, today was very cold, cloudy and windy.

Report Check-In

A little gem of a spot right on the water! Beautiful, peaceful! We had it all to ourselves! Highly recommend! $10US nightly. Water, electric and strong Wi-Fi

Report Check-In

We choose Fidel’s over the next beach north because standing you have a nice ocean view even from the parking areas further from the beach (no high sand dunes/berm interfering with view).

Sign can be difficult to see, at highway it faces southbound traffic. Another sign at a turn was dirty enough we missed it (late in the season).
Maps picture added here.

Much of the dirt road is very bumpy, we did fine going slow. Road ok for bigger RVs, but if you miss the turn on the dirt part, larger vehicles need to make the C (3 sides of a square) path to get to Fidel’s along a very bumpy (not deeply rutted) road.
Smaller vehicles (@25’ not towing) could do the triangle turn around at 2/3 of the C or just turn around at that spot).

There are palapas on the beach (with softer sand and blowing sand if windy) and ones further away with hard packed sand/dirt and no blowing sand. Electricity only at one palapa - but you can probably ask to charge devices at the house on location (also has a room to rent).

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot right on the beach. Spectacular sunset. Windy in the evening, but the wind died down overnight. We were surprised to find Fidel’s open since a couple we met traveling said it was closed the previous night. We paid 200 pesos.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot on the beach. Met by our helpful host. Only ones here so far this evening. Enjoying walk on the beach!

Report Check-In

Stayed one night, Fidel is charming and funny and his English is great. Had the pick of a camp spot right by the beach, felt self and protected. Electricity was out when we were there due to a storm (was visibly being repaired as we arrived). Outhouses are also very rustic. Bathrooms/showers are fine but the water isn't very hot (maybe was related to electricity?). $200mx for a quiet safe night after a long drive was well worth it. Would stay again.

Report Check-In

This place is open! It's lovely. $10 per night and $4 for firewood. right on the beach. No street dogs running around so that was welcome. I let my dogs off leash and that was fine too. showers were run down but hot.

Report Check-In

Shamefully the place was closed. We are not entirely sure what the reason is but we think it was due to the hurricane that came through a week or so earlier. Stayed at the campground just north of this one.

Report Check-In

200 pesos and we are the only ones camping here on a August Saturday night. Several families on the beach during the day though. Fidel is cool. Follow the big “RV” signs down to the beach and he’ll check you in eventually.

Report Check-In

Amazing, off-the-beaten path RV & Van friendly camping right on the beach next to a palapa with partial hook-ups. Beautiful views, friendly, helpful staff, and 24-hour security. You can drive right out onto the beach & drive around & have some fun. The last few years have been difficult for Fidel & his business, so currently toilet & shower amenities are limited, but still available. He works hard to maintain a clean beach and campground. Go see Fidel & enjoy a night of camping & driving right on the beach & fall asleep to the waves.

Report Check-In

We made an unexpected trip down the west coast of Baja and stumbled over an awesome campground. Fidel’s el Pabellon RV camp popped up in iOverlander and we thought we would give it a try. Some of the signs are confusing with similar names but we finally found Fidel. There was no one else because we are at the tail end of the season. Fidel convinced us to camp right next to the new clubhouse. The clubhouse has two fire pits to cook up fish tacos. They have put a lot of work into the place and he predicts in 2-3 months it will be done with having water and power at each palapa. He has showers and toilets (now with doors) close by. The sand on the beach is super fine and soft.

Report Check-In

Traveling with 24’ RV trailer, stayed 2 nights, 3 palapas, one with electric, agree with amenities descriptions.

Report Check-In

Quiet spot on the beach. Fidel was out of town, so no dinner service to comment on. But we did meet him later and he was extremely nice.
The dogs destroyed our sandy shoes we left our overnight (lesson learned), and one dog was very territorial with my dog (which made me uneasy). So just, be aware of that.
Bathrooms are in working order, did not try the shower. Decent cell signal with Verizon. Wifi was good at the house.

Report Check-In

Had the place to ourselves. The showers are hot and water is not salty unlike other places (sometimes the hot water tank isn't turned on, tell Fidel and he'll turn it on for you). Fidel showed up later, had a great conversation. He apparently has a boat and will take you out fishing. The road in was in good condition. The beach goes on for miles.

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights for 200 pesos/night. Almost empty this time of year - one other camper was there each night. Nice spot. Showers are cold this time of year, but Fidel's greetings are warm.

Report Check-In

Fidel is really great. Wonderful first stop on the way down the Baja. Thank you!

Report Check-In

My third visit to Fidel’s place
Wouldn’t visit Baja without spending a couple days here
Fidel as friendly as ever !

Report Check-In

We camped at the RV park next door but came here for dinner. Fidel is super friendly and an excellent host. We had a lobster dinner and some local wine. There were a couple of locals here enjoying a drink. Very friendly people and atmosphere as though we're dining with family. We'll definitely camp here next time.

Report Check-In

still 200 pesos a night. Fidel still super friendly. wifi went in and out but good enough for this check-in :) showers hot, flush toilets worked.

Report Check-In

Fidel’s is still here...as in tonight! Business is really bad so hope he survives!

Report Check-In

Safe, Clean, Beautiful Beach, Hot Showers, 3 Palapas, Fidel is very nice. $200 pesos, Good Stop.

Report Check-In

200 pesos for a night without hookups. Nice place right on the beach, hot showers. Couple of dogs running around.

Report Check-In

Hello
Friendly owner who live here, so you aren't alone the night.
Correct shower with hot water but low presure like everywhere here I think.
Nice view on the sea.
The dogs are friendly and don't disturb you.
We pay 200 pesos for our family of 5.
You have water (no sure it's drinking) and a hole in the sand seems a place for dump(but I haven't use it).
You have a G4 connexion and if you need there is the wifi near the house and it seems correct.
We stay 2 quiet nights but it's the call of the south who say tu us to go...
Croods approved.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night here Paid $200 pesos
Hot showers, flush toilets. Toilets have doors. (Some reviews mentioned they didn’t).
Huge beach area. Black sand.
About 5 other rigs.
Didn’t use wifi or their restaurant.

Report Check-In

Great place. Fidel is awesome - very accommodating. Just one other couple here right now. But they said there has been a revolving cast of travellers. Maps.me couldn't route right to the campo - no problem, good signage.

We'll be back, for sure.

Report Check-In

Nice place. We were alone. Endless sandy beach. Wifi was ok.

Report Check-In

Fidel is a very nice person. He speaks some English. The place is a big sand / dirt lot right on the big and very wide sand beach. It is a bit a windy spot, but this is great for Wind- or Kite surfing. (Wind mostly side onshore, so safe). The electric outlet d worked well. Fidel is building a Restaurant, with new showers and toilets. It should be opwaden in a month or so. He already cooked me a dinner (Langosta) which was excellent. I was the only guest. Will be a great place to eat, behind a wind protecting glass wall with view over the Pacific. Will for sure stop there again.

Report Check-In

Pulled in late. Had checked out El Soccorito RV. Came here instead. It was dark and Daughter answered the door and called Papa. Told us to camp where ever. We were the only ones here. We pitched our tee-pees under a palapa. Fidel arrived. Very friendly guy who looks you right in the eye. He has been nothing but hospitable. He and his wife work hard to keep the place clean from all the locals that frequent the place. They work keeping the area maintained for the fisherman from what I saw.On my daily walks on the beach I have always returned with as much garbage as I can carry. The wind is a cruel mistress sometimes with trash. As a former commercial fisherman it was quite a pleasure to see the men launching Pangas these mornings as they ply their craft. Amenities. Toilets and Shower worked GRATE for us. The Wi-Fi works grate IMO. Obviously the farther away you go from the signal. well the worse it gets. I have used the showers. Was very hot. Have had no issues with water other than low flow. We have ventured into town a few times and have been greeted warmly everytime. Folks wave hello. There are wildflowers abound in the streets we have walked down. Fidels place is covered in Verbena and what seems to be a variety of Calendula. We paid 200 pesos a night. Used the electricity in the next palapa to charge devices. Have cooked in the fire pit quite often. The sanddollars on the beach are amazing. There are times when its a little busy round here as this is a well used beach..but they go home and its quiet again. I have loved staying here and have felt very welcome. Fidel keeps a sharp eye on the place. Some kids partied in here on Saturday night an left a mess. I had it picked up before he woke as he says hello every morning. We paid 200 pesos a night. We said our goodbyes and paid a little extra. I would not hesitate to support this mans family business again and hope it shall come to pass.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights here; was not very busy; Fidel is a nice guy and his dog is very friendly; the toilets and the showers are rustic but works very well; the big sandy beach is perfect for walking and jogging; in the early morning the local fishermen coming and going with their cars and boot trailers for fishing...was pretty interesting!

Report Check-In

Very basic. On a nice beach but not really much shelter. Wifi works well and power too if you park near the house. Washrooms very "rustic" as they say. Good for a night. We were the only people here in mid October. $200 pesos.

Report Check-In

Fidel's is a nice enough place - Fidel himself is a nice chap, but the park itself looking a bit tired. It's a massive flat sand parking lot with 3 palapas. Our palapa smelled of urine and needed to be swept/raked of garbage. The bathrooms are a bit far away but the water in the showers was plenty warm. Wifi, like most of Baja, was slow but mostly worked.

$10 USD/180 pesos for two people (one vehicle). Kids (ages 3 and 6) were free.

Report Check-In

The owner of campground arrived at 6 pm and he charged 200MX$ for us and our Defender; very pricey for what you get.
There was nobody on site (just an American trailer) so we couldn't get the wifi password till Fidel (the owner) arrived at 7pm to collect money.

It works only near of reception house.
Toilets and showers were open, clean but a little far away from beach.

Report Check-In

Facilities have seen better days but beachfront. Road in could be tricky in the rain

Report Check-In

Je déconseille. ...

Report Check-In

dismal place, luke warm showers, dirty bathrooms, no washbasin. not a tree, or shrub or plant of any description in sight.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot right on the beach. 10USD/ night.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot on the beach. 10 USD/night.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Fidel brought us a huge pile of firewood for 100 pesos. We're we're the only one there probably because the road to Fidel has been damaged a bit by last's week heavy rains but we made it easy in our Sprinter 2wd
Great sunset, dolphins in the bay
The palapas have seen better days but nice nonetheless
Wifi is spotty
Easy beginner surf spot right out front
Paid $200 pesos for 2 people

Report Check-In

tried to get to Fidel's today, but the road was impassable. 4 wheel drive would have made it, our older roadtrek would have gotten stuck in the mud. we were looking forward to Fidel's lobster dinner, but ended up at Don Eddie's instead.

Report Check-In

Pros: Great beach, safe place to sleep. Stayed 2 days at 150 per day. Cons: Fidel asks too much money for the food he makes. Clams on the beach sell for 60 pesos the dozen, so make sure you negociate the price.

Report Check-In

Stayed here, we were the only campers. Fidel was very friendly, spoke English. Only 3 palapas, super windy all day. We were only able to get 4 gallons of water out of the spout. Lots of Mexicans paying 20 pesos to play on the beach and dunes right in front of us.

Report Check-In

Good stopover, really nice owner, right at the beach and nice palapas with electricity, water and even light. Wifi works around reception and in the first palapa. We were the only ones there (low season end september) and paid 200 pesos but normal price is 300 pesos per vehicle.

Report Check-In

200 pesos/10 USD. Electricity and water at site. Right at the beach. WiFI at the sites

Report Check-In

Spent the night at Fidel's on our own with no one else around. Beach is excellent as is Fidel's hospitality. Get him to fry you up a couple lobster tails.

Report Check-In

very nice place. hot showers and clean bathrooms. WiFi next to the house was okay. a lot of people at the beach with their cars driving around.

Report Check-In

People like Fidel are what travelling through Latin America is all about. Super hospitable and friendly. Invited us into his home for cold beer and fresh lobster without hesitation. There are separate male and female shower blocks with hot showers and flushing toilets. Camping on the beach can be windy but Fidel has 3 palapas with tarps on the upwind side for a wind break. The place was hit by a Tsunami a few years back so these three are what remains. $10 a night but he was open to negotiation for multi-night stays so long as you're friendly. To be honest, I'll be paying the full price plus extra for the beers and lobster without the slightest hesitation.

Report Check-In

Great spot by the beach. Dunes and trees help guard from the wind. Only one other couple there in February. Equivalent of $8USD for two people. Pet friendly but there were 4-5 dogs roaming around so cuidado if you have smaller pets but they seemed friendly. Decent bathrooms with curtains on the stalls now. HOT water in the shower. Saw RV hookups but didn't try them. Great first night in Baja!

Report Check-In

was really pleased with this place. clean, and we had the beach to ourselves :) Fidel is really friendly and even cooked us up fresh crab. came for 1 night and stayed 3. 10$ a night with hookups, for our family of 4 and he gave us one night free.

Report Check-In

Fidel is a very Friendly Guy. Hot showers, flushing toilets, 110v available, we slept right on the Side of the beach, skinny dipped in the ocean, lovely stay. Typical roadside resto a mile on the main street up North was recommended by fidel.

Report Check-In

135pesos, many ants on Sites, salty showers....okay.

Report Check-In

Campsite with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and dolphins playing in the water. Electricity / water at site (if you opt for one. It is beautiful to camp right at the beach). The large bathroom (separately for men and women) has two toilets without doors and two showers with a curtain. However, the showers are nice and hot.

(Originally $ 10 / day)

Report Check-In
