Description

8 miles east of del Norte off Hwy 160. Spanish trail. Lots of camp sites. OHV trails too. Easy dirt road drive for any size RV.
Free dump station in Del Norte. It's Saturday and not another soul or vehicle in sight!

Google Maps directions are wrong! On 166, drive west of County Road 44 for about one mile and turn left at the big brown BLM sign. G-Maps will tell you to turn left at County Road 44 where there is a “Landfill Closed” sign.

Go just a bit further...follow the main dirt and explore some of the two track to some epic rock croppings and tabletops. Definitely cat and snake country, so stay aware. Would/will stay here again in a heartbeat. Good cell coverage also.

Go to the coordinates. Gmaps may take you to the LANDFILL CLOSED sign. Keep heading west on 160/a left out of there and the Spanish Trail is a couple mins down the road on your left with a BLM sign.

We went pretty deep in on this road to find an empty spot. It wasnt perfectly level but it was fine for a night and so beautiful. We were all alone with no one else in sight.

Beautiful spot with lots of options. Popular with mountain bikers, runners and motorcycles.

This is an amazing place with views to die for. I drove 1.4 miles from the parking area and set up in the first space that came up. I Can see for Miles and Miles and none of it includes another person or vehicle. the campsite that I am at is easily accessible by any type of RV.

Report Check-In

Lots of available camping out here. 1) please pick up your garbage and carry out you feces. Dogs too. 2) Plenty of places to camp that aren't trail heads where other people park to Mtb, run, hike or ride their motos. Explore, high clearance vehicles with good tires can get up most of the roads where there are better and more private campsites.

Report Check-In

Free. Very spread out spots. No amenities. Packed dirt main road with many offshoots. Very near a landfill, but no noticeable odor on the west side of it. Beautiful, wide open spaces with a great sunset.
