The other road to Ayacucho is now open, too and ok to drive on but some parts are very narrow and lots of blind turns. Landslides only after heavy storms, we passed when it was dry without problems but check with locals of it has been raining a lot recently.
Report Check-InThis road is the only one available to go to Ayacucho. The middle one is closed because of a landslide and the east one is being fixed.. This one is windy but freshly paved.
Report Check-InAt this point they open the lane going south from 1 pm to 2 pm. The lane going north is open also at fixed hours, local vendors told me that is open from 7 am till 10 pm except 1pm to 2 pm.

Report Check-InTake PE3SM as alternative. It’s a beautiful road, paved the whole way with fun curves and good scenery.
Report Check-InOK so, they are indeed fixing the 3S road till Myocc and it is closed for cars but I was able to go through it on my bicycle. which meant I could ride without traffic. It is not all paved but it is better than most dirt roads.
