15 sites, max trailer length 15'. nice sites with great views. hiking near by. $15 per night and with a national park pass it's $7.50 a night. Max 16 days.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice little park with a host on duty. Fee is $15 unless you hold a Senior Park Pass or a Disabled Person Park Pass. Still a good deal for a scenic, safe roadside location.
Most spots are shorter back in, only one pull through large enough for a motorhome or fifth wheel.
Would recommend over any over night place in Helena…
Report Check-InBeautiful camping off the highway. Well maintained sites w pit toilets and water spigots. Some road noise but otherwise very peaceful with significant space between campsites. $7.50 w pass
Report Check-InVery quiet. clean pit toilet. Fire pits. There was a water spigot near bathroom but doesn’t fit hose to connect to. Road to get there was smooth. $15 or $7.50 with parks pass. We didn’t have a reservation and there were three spots free I believe when we got there around 4pm. Stayed one night.
Report Check-InWe learned an important lesson: check the altitude. This was our destination tonight but the campground roads are completely snowed in. Early may.
Report Check-InFull wifi due to cell towers. Fun spot to watch lightning from far away.
Report Check-InNice little campground. Bit windy since it’s near the top of the pass. We rolled in around 9pm and there were still plenty of sites. Probably only 2 we’re taken.
Report Check-InSelf-pay $15 per night or $7.50 with America the Beautiful pass. Some highway noise from trucks even though the road is far away. I think due to lack of trees/vegetation and elevation of the campground. Pit toilets and non-threaded water spigot you must hold open. Good for gallon jugs, not great for refilling an RV tank. Stay limit 16 consecutive days. Bear country so keep food smells to a minimum and lock up food. Quiet time 10 pm to 6 am. No trash cans - pack in/pack out. Decent Verizon signal. Dogs allowed on leash. Lots of places to walk. Picnic tables at each site.
Report Check-InThis is a nice forest service campground at the top of MacDonald Pass outside of Helena. It’s a good place to escape the heat and be up in the cool blue skies. It is close to the trail head for the continental divide trail so there’s hiking in both directions. There is good Verizon and AT&T service. There is water in the campground but no dump. Big rigs could easily fit into many of the camp spots and they are distributed nicely so you have your own private space. This is a nice camera
Report Check-Innice clean campground. paved road around the loop and gravel car, picnic table, and fire ring areas which was great because it was rainy. full signal as we are just below the cell towers. beautifull landscape. a little road noise but it blended into the wind in the trees or sounded like a river. $15 a night or $7.50 if you have an interagency pass.
Report Check-InNice campsites! This is a fee camping site, but the fee box is empty- no envelopes.
Report Check-In15 sites, max trailer length 15'. nice sites with great views. hiking near by. with a national park pass it's $5.00 a night.
