Latest Check-Ins

We are here with a defender. For conventional campers, the trip is a bit shaky, but possible.

Report Check-In

The campsite is a bit abandoned.
But the toilets and showers still work 150 pesos/night/person.
It's very lonely by the lake.
There is a responsible person who is very friendly and accommodating.
It is also possible to rent kayaks 100 pesos/hour. Everything else doesn't seem to be in operation anymore.
It was worth it for us.
We like it a little lonely.

Report Check-In

We checked this place today and decided to leave. Place is not maintained, pool empty. The place where to camp in a van is far away from the lagoon. We left and went to the first eco turist camp.

Report Check-In

A little paradise. 70 Pesos pppn. The road is bumpy and high clearance is good but not necessary. Our rig is 3.30m high and we had no problems. But take care of the cables on the campground. Beer is cold and good, Bruno is very friendly. Showers are clean and cold. But who needs hot showers? We had electricity on site with long extension.

Report Check-In

Super nice and quiet spot about 5km from the highway. Bruno is a friendly host. Lots of bird life around. Pitched a tent under a palapa for 70 pesos per person per night. Nearest food and water is back in Felipe town so bring all you need for your stay, though there are a few beers for sale in the fridge. The 5km road in is rough with potholes and large muddy puddles, so take it slow.

Super friendly people, nice space to park. We just did a quick stop over and got hit with rain all night. Bathrooms are a bit dirty but usable. Super quiet night.
50 peso per person

Bruno, runs the family place.
they are open from 11 to 7 , for camping contact him before.+52 983 120 6676.

Nice and quiet place. clean toilets, with fresh water,
pool.
Restaurant opens only weekends.
But you can take your camping gear and use some things to cook.

the only thing is that mornings with no wind, the smell of mud stucked near shore/dock.
i was lucky almost whole week was very windy.

Report Check-In

Nice place in between Tulum and Chetumal. We were here at the end of the dry season, so the lake was very low and unswimmable (lots of silt and mud) but there is a wonderful pool and cooling breeze. Friendly owners, feels like a nature park, signs everywhere telling you to enjoy the nature. $50 pesos per person, we had a very quiet night here all to ourselves. The toilet block is a bit dirty, but flushes and serviceable. Showers are cold but refreshing. We didn’t try the small shop/restaurant, but you can buy a few items on site. Offered to let us use the kitchen. We cleared the entrance gate with our 3m van no problem, but be aware there are some hanging electrical wires that need to be pushed out of the way if you’re tall. Access road is very bumpy and slow going, but nothing scary. 4x4 not required, but high clearance is nice. Just take it slow. Recommended, good quality for price after the busy and expensive coast.

Report Check-In

We attempted to stay here but were not able to as the gates were locked (about 8PM). We tried honking but no one came to gate (same with the other spot up the road). Not sure exactly what time the lock the gate-assuming 6 or 7.

Report Check-In

Very quiet place. It is great after the crowded coast. We where there during the week. Absolutely no one.
Pool is nicely hot, not deep.
We are an rv of 7.1x2. 4x3.15m. It did fit without trouble.
Acces road is a bit bumpy, but every one should be able to drive it slowly

Report Check-In

2 people / 15ft campervan - did stay 2 days & nights, paid 200 pesos total.

Positives:
* Friendly folks. We were dealing mainly with Bruno.
* Parking area for self contained vehicles/campers is an integral part of the grounds, not just some piece of the ground behind the fence
* Caretaker + 2 dogs present on the grounds, even at night (+ lights)
* Showers, toilets, place to cook, pool, palapas, tables & chairs
* Possible extras - Kayaks, cabanas, spots for tents, electrocity
* Mix of sunny and shaded areas
* Very quiet.....(and posted sign urging visitors to listen to nature suggest that is not an accident)

Negatives:
* Very limited access to the lake for swimming - shallow, mud.
* No signal for phone (could be actually a blessing.... )

For self contained overlanders seeking a break and rest, this place is in my view better option compared to the outfit just 1.4km to the EAST.
