Description

This is the archeological site of the desert mummies of Nazca people. The guard station is occupied 24 hours and they allow for overnight stays at the parking area. It appears to be much better than most of the campgrounds we've been to. There are shaded structured tall enough to host tour busses. You get to sleep in a cemetery before you die. Cool!

Great spot for the night after visiting the Necropolis. All the tour groups leave by 6p and we had an amazing sunset to ourselves. Baños open all night (but they turn the water after dark), friendly staff, quiet. s/8pp.

We arrived at 4 pm and the two ladies were happy about our visit and our stay for the night. The price for the cementary is still 8 S pP, the 7 km good dirtroad is doable with every car, the parking is shaded and leveled. Toilets were open in the night. For us a quiet and safe place.

We must have had the unfriendly shift because we were not allowed to stay here, very much prohibido!

Got here 4:30, site doesnt take long, only 30 min. bunch of skeletons, with long hair, in pits, wrapped in blankets. we asked the friendly girl selling tickets if we could camp here but she said that we would have to wait until 6 when she finishes and Alejendro the security guards starts work and ask him if it is ok. we settled in but when 6 came Alejendro didnt come and the girl said that if we stayed here alone she would get in trouble. she seemed to feel pretty bad about it. we drove down the road had some dinner and at about 8pm alejendro was outside beeping his motorbike horn. we went back with him to the carpatk and camped for the night. he seems very happy to have foreigeners camp here. there is no gate so you cqn just drive in and camp if it is after 6 and he hasnt rocked up yet.

Report Check-In

We got here at night and the security guy allowed us to camp here as long as we pay the entrance what we did the next day anyways. Washrooms were locked overnight. There is a sink outside where you can wash your dishes and fill up water, but the water was yellowish when we were there.

This is the archeological site of the desert mummies of Nazca people. We were very impressed. It's somehow more interesting than the lines. Entrance is S.8 per person. The guard station is occupied 24 hours and they allow for overnight stays at the parking area. It appears to be better than most of the campgrounds we've been to. There are shaded structures tall enough to host tour busses. Best of all, you get to sleep in a cemetery before you die. Cool! Pets are allowed but keep them on leash because there are bones scattered around. Seriously!
