Description

MODERATOR NOTE: No overnight camping allowed, please respect the wishes of the locals.
---
It’s up Mallicot road from the intersection of Mallicott road and Ash Lake Road. There’s a road/hiking trail, you can drive up about a mile and there are turnouts of various sizes all along. It dead ends at a paved hiking trail which is lovely. We did not encounter anyone else here. No facilities.
A train passes by but the sound is muffled by the trees – it did not interfere with our sleep. Good strong AT&T cell signal.

Report Check-In

This location is apparently private property because a police officer knocked on our window at night to let us know. There was no signs posted anywhere.

Report Check-In

Dead end gravel road with good sized area to turn around. Good privacy. Connects to (apparently) little used and very nice bike/walking concrete path. Gravel road is in very good shape. No signs prohibiting overnight parking. One bike rider went by this morning otherwise we were left alone. Very little road noise but the trains and their horns were pretty loud. Woke us up but not that big a deal to me. Would stay again. Could fit a good sized rig. Just slopped enough that I used blocks to level out.

Report Check-In

I’ve checked in here before but wanted to add a few more photos this time. I previously stayed along the road and this time pulled all the way to the dead end where the paved trail is.

I saw a couple walking by last night around 8pm and a pretty shaggy guy on a bike huffing up the road. Even into the afternoon the next day, nobody had come through except one vehicle turning around. There really aren’t any homes in walking distance to where so not very populated. I get great Verizon service here on my phone and my jet pack, good enough to remote into my employers network and operate at good speeds.

Report Check-In

As mentioned, good spot for the night or a few days if you’re wanting to explore the area. You can shower down the toad at the Lewis and Clark Campground - they usually let the public use he coin showers.

You can hear the train and toad traffic but it’s muffled. It’s not nearly as loud as some other areas along the gorge here. I only saw one car come down this road and turn around between 7pm at night and now (11 am ) the next day. I have good enough Verizon coverage here that I’m able to work/remote into a network as well as stream on Netflix. Yay! It’s quite muddy along this road and on the pullouts right now, FYI

Report Check-In

Nice little road, few pull-outs, some pretty sloping, were there by ourselves, train a bit noisy, but ok for one night. small village close by with a grocery store with restrooms
