Description

We came a cross this place while exploring the coast region and looking for cheaper options to sleep than Dar or Bagamayo. It is a hotel, but they have quite some flat space to park your car or pitch your tent. The hotel is situated close to the sea (50 mtrs) and has a restaurant and bar. This place is secured with a fence and guards patrolling the area. Staff is very friendly and if you want to see the village you are more than welcome to come along.

For camping don’t expect anything to fancy as this was there first time having overlanders over. No braai, but you can make a fire on the sandy surface. There is a toilet, but outdated. No hot shower, but only a cold one close to the beach. No wifi, but this is work in progress.

But for $5,- pppn this is the cheapest option in this area and good for a night.

When I asked about camping beforehand they told there wasn't any. Maybe if you get here last minute you can camp at the parking - very shaded but no view - or pitch a tent closer to the beach but no car access. We stayed at the chalets. Simple but very clean and comfy rooms. The view is beautiful!!! Food is simple but good. Prices vary from 15k to 30k per plate. Bring earplugs in the weekend as people from the village like to party till late night. Slow wifi provided. Bad and unstable network with both Airtel and Vodacom. Very pleasant place to stay!
