About 1.7 miles off of I-10. Paved road to there, then turn right on a gravel road, and pick any spot. We drove about 1/2 mile in to the left, there was only one other camper Friday night in April. Far enough from the freeway to be quiet, but not absolutely silent. No amenities, except lots of fire pits. We arrived around 3:30, on a 93 degree day, but with a nice breeze. Views of mountains, saguaros and ocatillo. No bugs. Our site was perfectly level side to side. Loved it here, and would stay again.

Nice flat spot with a fire ring and wifi enough to work. Dogs had room to run safely and the freeway was largely muted.
Report Check-InI would echo most of what other have commented for this sections of free, dispersed BLM camping. I would guess I’m visiting during the sweet spot- after the big winter gem and mineral show and before it gets too hot. The area is pretty cleared out now (early March) so the spots are plentiful and private. You can hear the interstate as mentioned but it’s a distant hum, nothing like a Walmart parking lot or a hotel on the side of a highway. :)
Report Check-InWas here at the beginning of March and it wasn't very crowded - lots of room between spots. Some ATVers during the day and depending where you camp there is so highway noise - other than that it was pretty quiet. Very scenic - 4WD roads back into the hills make good hiking. Decent cell service and data.
Report Check-InNice level spots. Plenty of room and nice views of the hills and city.
Report Check-InNice place to camp just off I-10. Definitely not empty in the winter. Visited in early February and there were hundreds of RVs around. Plenty of space to spread out though.
