Great relaxing place, moved camp from Mani Kia in San Ignacio to here, so much quieter, good home cooked food at the restaurant, on the banks of the river with nature. Definitely would stay again. Friendly staff. Happy days.

Lovely owner and the location is perfect. Large shaded area next to the river with very few bugs. Parrots playing in the trees and a variety of critters, ducks, geese, turkeys, and very friendly cat and dogs, near the main building. Quiet on the weekdays. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is HOT. Yep you read that correctly, the shower water is hot. WiFi available. Nice restaurant with an honor system drink cooler. Oh and they also have cute little cabanas for rent. The river is large, moving at a fairly good clip while we were there post some rains and per the owner, is nice for swimming and does not have crocodiles.

Awesome place to stay right at the river in nice shady locations. Still 16.5BZD PP.

First we want to stay for one night, but we love this place so much that we stayed for three nights. This place brings all what we love and its the best one from canada to Belize for us!

Report Check-In

a little update, wifi is extremely slow...

Report Check-In

Great spot before crossing the border to Guatemala. It was around 16 Belize dollar for two in a van (we paid with credit card). Good working shower and toilet. The environment is lovely and the owners are nice as well.

Report Check-In

We spent 1 night here. It is really peaceful and lovely. In the middle of the jungle, along the river.
It is super clean, there is hot shower with pressure!
The owner is super friendly.
The dogs are super cool.
We are alone on the campground and the owner said we can help ourselves at the bar even if it is closed.
Breakfast and fresh juices were really good ! It was the rainy season so the water was not clear but it must be amazing otherwise! We would definitely come back here and stay longer !

Report Check-In

Stayed here before crossing into Guatemala. Really beautiful but really expensive, as is everything in Belize. 16.35bz/person, kids included, it was our most expensive camping so far. Nice property, the river is good for swimming and cooling off in the heat. We were able to plug our van into one of the unfinished cabanas for power, very quiet place. The owner is lovely and all the staff is super welcoming.

Maybe my personal favorite campground we’ve found south of the states. We hit it for two nights after the weekend, so it was very quiet. We were the only campers, and there didn’t seem to be anyone in the cabins either. We enjoyed the restaurant food and drinks, and Caspian swung on the hammock while waiting for his meals. (Note: restaurant was closed for Monday dinner.) Perfectly located to visit the Xunantunich ruins and come back, and also to cross the border early in the morning. The highlight was most definitely the swimming access from the camping area, which we used every day to cope with the heat. We paid $35.70 BZD/night for two adults. Bathroom/showers are spacious and clean. (The one we tried oddly had *only* hot water, but I’m guessing that was a fluke.) We didn’t have a lot of trouble with bugs, and we could hear the howler monkeys in the distance at night. Just a beautiful, peaceful place to camp.

Beautiful place direct on the river. With cold shower toilet, all clean. The restaurant is nice too. Different animals are around. we loves this place very much.

Report Check-In

Really quiet spot next to the river. First place in Belize that the bugs didn’t drive us crazy!
Hot shower if you use the bathroom to the right. We found the wifi in the restaurant worked good, no issues with it.
Super friendly dogs that love attention! We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the prices looked pretty decent.

Beautiful people beautiful place.15 blz each. nice restaurant. Hot showers with lots of pressure, clean.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place to camp, hardly any bugs, very peaceful, nice people, good food, hot showers and reasonably priced.

A Peaceful night. Did not swim. And strangely no mosquitos there! Lovely owner gave us pack with Christmas cake when we left.

Report Check-In

We did not camp here, although we wished we had. It's so peaceful and quiet, and a beautiful spot. We came to get into the river, they didn't charge us anything, just asked us to buy something from the bar/restaurant area. The river was nice and cool, it's pretty warm here still. Very nice place to spend the day, or camp outside San Ignacio, it's about a 15 min drive from the town. The did allow our dog, just asked that it be on the leash until we got down to the river.

Report Check-In

We loved our stay at Clarissa Falls. We spent only one night before crossing to Guatemala.
16.5BZ pp per night. The is a bit grassy area close to the river where you can sleep.

The food at the restaurant was good - try the homemade fruit cake as a desert - it is really good.

Restrooms were as clean as possible with the bad weather and mud outside. Cold showers.
Really few mosquitos for a change

Unfortunately, we could not try the “tubing” since the river was too high.

The best part for us was to get to know the owner of the place, Azucena. We spent 2hours chatting - very delightful lady.

We totally recommend

Report Check-In

Very nice place, fresh river water, litlle windy, no moquitos.

Report Check-In

We only visited to swim in the falls. 2BZD per person to swim or free with the purchase of a meal or drink. Very reasonable prices and tasty food. Friendly staff.

Report Check-In

As described. Very nice place. Be careful with the bad road at the end of the white road to get to Clarissa's

Report Check-In

peaceful tent camping right next to river for 15bz per person. outlets attached to trees to charge phones! watched 2 river otters play for an hour while we sat on a little dock. purified water available by kitchen area. convenient location to visit nearby attractions.

Report Check-In

Little resort with restaurant that offers camping in the garden right at the river (swimming possible).
Toilets (flush / with TP) and basic showers (cold when we visited), wifi only super slow. Friendly owner that is welcoming. Price BZD 16.35 pppn is too expensive for what you get though.

Report Check-In

This is a great spot to stay. We stayed with our Sprinter on the grass next to the beautiful Mopan river in the shade. No one else was around and we really enjoyed the privacy. The river is just perfect for bathing, not to deep and very slow. They have showers, but we didn’t used them. The restaurant looks nice and they had wifi there. Payed 32 Belize Dollars (with Credit Card). We stayed only one night in Belize and this was the perfect place for us.

Report Check-In

Off the highway, nice grassy area, power and water at a couple of spots by the river. Good meal at the restaurant. Hot showers. Even some picnic tables. Lots of shade. 15 Belize per person + tax. Worth it! Also have used book exchange which was welcome, since we had a bunch of books read and got all new ones.

Report Check-In

The best place to stay, really. Amazing host Chena, amazing shakes and i heard amazing food. Although it's a bit expensive for us it was completely worth it!!! Thank you

Report Check-In

Chena (the owner) is amazing. Parking down near the river, under the shade of the big trees is isolated. If you park near the building the chickens/ducks/geese will be around you. We found a grounded outlet and good water to fill tanks. It’s in bushes at back corner of last cabin. The showers were hot. We had ZERO issues with our dogs. But we kept them close to camp and did not let them out with the birds around.

Report Check-In

Nice spot with a great friendly host. All the things below are true. The maya site in the neighborhood is worth a visit (even if you have seen a lot). Wifi only at the restaurant.

Report Check-In

Not enough good things to say about this camp place! Chena is the sweetest host. The camp spot was ideal with two dogs, so long as you can keep them from chasing chickens and other dogs. We managed to keep our dogs off leash almost the entire time! No other guests at the resort. Running tab and pay at the end. We used the paddle board on the river, 20 steps from the camp spot. Super clean bathrooms with showers, flushing toilets, tp, and soap! MInimal BUGS! Meals were very good and reasonably priced. Chena was very welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. Planned to stay 1 night, stayed 3! Highly recommended!!

15bzd+tax= 16.35 bzd ppers
No better price without electricity.
The Trail to hike to ruins is now closed because there is new owner. You have to walk the 2 miles along the main road.
After one hour the husband asked us roughly to keep our Dog on leash. We decided to leave.

Report Check-In

nice place, good food reasonable price. rover was a great cool off spot. washrooms clean.

Report Check-In

THIS IS THE BEST CAMPGROUND IN ALL OF BELIZE. Beautiful spot right on the Macal River, hot water in the CLEAN bathrooms, the BEST FOOD in Cayo District and Clarissa Falls owner and your hostess, Miss Chena is the friendliest hostess in Belize.

Report Check-In

Awesome camping right on the river!! A must stop right before the border and close enough to town and ruins. There is a nice restaurant on property which has awesome milk shakes, super cold beer and good wi fi. Water falls are right here, you can also borrow tubes. Camping has electricity to run extension (we did not use might not have grounding) and water. Nice bathrooms and showers. Owners are wonderful! $15 bz per person. Such a quiet and tranquil spot we ended up spending two days and could have stayed forever! We even saw wild toucans in the trees! Nice little dock and ladder on camping area to get into river. Nice picnic tables, lots of grass, shade and hammocks. Hiking trails and village on road. Pets are allowed but may need to be put on leash as owners dogs might chase them. Highly recommend!! #keeptothecoast
