Really nice place directly beside a small bridge crossing the very clear river Kiwira. A lot of trees around, parking on a green lawn. Locals passing the bridge are very friendly, just waving, no disturbing.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
To add: everyone of the village was really kind all the time and welcomed us. We felt really safe at this spot.
Report Check-InWe arrived at this spot around 4pm and were told just before dark by two guys to ask the chief for permission. This took us 1.5h and we registered with the chairman of the village executive officer, but then all was fine to spend the night here. So, if you get here, perhaps say hello up front, so you won’t be disturbed later.
Report Check-InStill a good place! Lots of friendly locals around in the evening and the morning. Gotta love children though. They will stay until it’s dark. Quite at night, you can just hear the river flowing.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay overnight. In night very quiet you can hear just the small river. The kids could be annoying, but this was my own fault 😉.
Report Check-InVery nice place, next to the river and a beautiful forest as per previous descriptions. There is a school a few meters away and locals use the river to wash their clothes and motorcycles, hence there is some traffic of people, all of them very nice and friendly.
The forest and river created some sort of microclimate and the night was absolutely freezing (end July), make sure you have warm stuff!
I tried the Ngozi Crater Forest place first but wasn’t conducive to my car and trailer, both 4x4 but NO. So this place is alongside a river, kids watched the set and then left. No facilities as it’s just a flat peace of land next to a river. Bit hectic to get to, I wouldn’t recommend trucks as some parts of the “road” were narrow.
