7 Wild campsites on Harper lk.
I made it in here with a 40 foot class A motor home but I damaged my front bumper and blew a tire, I marked it as big rig friendly but I highly recommend you pass this lake by unless you ok with dings, dents and damage ☺
Recommend only trucks with small lifted trailers, truck and campers or off road capable cars.
Word of warning if you meet someone, one of you may end up backing up as much as a km as the road is narrow and very few pull out.
Worth the 6 km drive in.
2.5 km west of Chase turn left off the hwy on to Harper Lake Road.
3 km in take a right a junction then continue 3 more km then take the left branch continue for a half km to the lake.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice spot, straightforward in a tacoma, for sure need good ground clearance. Be warned, can hear alot of rats scurrying around under my truck as I type!
Report Check-InBeautiful lake front spots with little piers! Rough road but with some clearance and confidence you’ll get here
Report Check-InCamped here when passing through from salmon arm to maple ridge, 3.5km off the highway on a gravel road, would not attempt unless you had AWD because towards the end the road gets a little choppy and when you get to the lake turn left and you will see an awesome campground, free of charge and unmanned, very beautiful and we had the place to ourselves, worth a stay if your in the area
Report Check-InGreat little rec site, nice lake. The road is definitely bumpy once you get closer to the lake, no problem with a Sprinter 4x4.
Report Check-InBeautiful quiet spot during the week can be busy on a weekend. The road in is as described. Good sort from the last 100 meters. After the dip there is a section of deep rutting that would stop most regular cars.
Report Check-InVery quiet rec site at this time. Good road description below. To avoid the deep ruts on the last 100m turn left into a narrow track just after the last left turn. It's a bit rocky too but manageable and leads after about 75m straight to the best site...
Report Check-Innot recommend for cars like a Dodge Caravan! the last 100 m are really bad so you cannot pass and the 6 km before are very rocky and you have to go very slow.
Report Check-Inhidden away right on the lake with two out Houses. detailed instructions from another user on the road in are accurate. tire placement is key in the last stretch if you have a stock 4x4
we had to do some clean up after the long weekend it looks like one little area got some use.
first day we were "joined" by two other vehicles. they were locals just doing some boat fishing and were surprised we knew of the place at all.
it's quiet, beautiful and hidden away perfectly. deadfall is sparse so I suggest you bring wood as no place local we could find even sold any.
the road after the wooden sign would be a bit more challenging to unseasoned off roaders with stock rigs so use caution.
enjoy and please keep the area clean.
very nice place along the lake. official recreation site.
with clean pit toilets. many mosquitos ^^
follow the lake Harper direction indicates by the woodboard. then do not follow the grass road on the right side. stay on the main way and then close to the lake choose the left road.
gravel and rocky road easy when we gone there except for the last 100 m with deep marks. be careful with the underside of your car.
we can reach the site with our Nissan rogue AWD.
the road up is fairly rough but manageable most of the way. there is a deep trough in the road at km 6,just as you can see the lake, so our Toyota Sienna could not pass by, without tearing up the underside of our van. we turned around and left.
Google maps will give you wrong directions, so follow those above instead.
