Villa Hermosa de Tambopata | Established Campground

Stayed 7 nights. Unlevelled spots on grassy parking lot. Only 1 spot if you need electricity, you need a 30m cable. This is not a camping. No camping facilities; no place to do dishes, wash, communal kitchen, nor proper place for trash. 1 basic shower/toilet that seemed not cleaned for months. The shower has no drainage so you stand in a disgusting pool of water. Terrain is next to the dusty road; and smoke & dust hangs in the air constantly. It felt unhealthy. Very loud in weekends, noisy traffic at night and their rooster every morning at 5AM.

Bad experience here. The owner wouldn’t let us go for groceries without paying in advance.. even though we left our stuff behind. Next day he unplugged our cable without saying anything (even though we said to never unplug it, it seriously harms our batteries). He sneakily locked the door so we couldn’t put it back in. We went to ask, he said “time is up”. Very very rude.

35soles per night + 1Sol per KiloWatt/hr used: total 42 pn. Would not come back.

Nice place to stay or park the car during a jungle tour. We payed 35 Soles for 2 Persons and a Van and half the price for just parking when on the tour. Just a few minutes (and 10 sol) with taxi/tuktuk to the city. The hosts are very nice, also recommend a mechanic who came to the campsite.

Don Manuel, Dona Blanca y su familia são pessoas especiais, chamaram um mecânico de confiança para trocar as pastilhas dos freios. Lugar muito tranquilo aonde passei 7 noites.

El mejor lugar para quedarse en P.Maldonado, te sentiras como en casa y no querras irte... Así nos paso a nosotros, hay lugar para motorhome grande y para varios vehiculos. Ducha con agua caliente, piscina. Si quieres degustar comida rica de la selva, lo podras hacer. Blanca y Manuel, son sus dueños, muy conocedores de la selva y con muchas historias para contar. Si tienes paciencia y dias, tambien podras ver todo tipo de animales, aves, monos, añujes, oso perezoso...
Es un lugar increible, volveremos seguro!!

We spent one night here, the space for motorhomes is the parking lot in front of the reataurant/swimming pool but it’s all grass and surrounded by trees so the noise from the road is not super bad.
The “new” bathroom was closed for the time we were there so we had to use the run down one. It’s not dirty, it’s just very old. Manuel and his family are very kind and welcoming.
There is a space to relax in the middle of a small forest that has hammocks, chairs and a lake that’s a lot more cosy than the parking space. Wifi is good but only around the restaurant, no connection at the resting space. We didn’t use the pool.
We paid 35 sols for 2 people.

Quiet place, good service, with swimming pool, energy paid separately, clean bathrooms. 35 Soles for 2 people and the car.

5 nights here! Very Nice friendly owners. They threated us like family. 35 s 2 pax and 1 camper. We loved the pool, to cool off. There is also a Nice ceviche restaurant in the neighbourhood. See restaurants.

I don't understand the negativity below, this was a very nice place to stay in nature but close to the city! We spent about 5 nights here, and left our vehicle here when we went into the jungle. 30 soles to sleep, 10 to park in front of the camera.

The bathroom was new, clean, exclusively for us and has an electrical shower with somewhat warm water. They also had older bathrooms, those indeed looked a bit dirty and ancient. But we never used those.

The pool is the only negative point. Although they remove leaves and insects daily and add chemicals, the water was not clear and seemed old. I wouldn't want to swim in there.

We saw monkeys daily, the very friendly owners let us know whenever they saw them. Night monkeys in the trees right above our camper.

place is not bad but reality: u only have choice to park in parking lot next to a superdusty road (if didnt rain.meals were at least 25-27sol when a 'menu' to nearby local restaurants is 7-8s! and finally I nocited the pool has no filters or circulation pump!its basically always the same water clorinated regularly and 'flavoured' by the countless kids in the weekend which u want to avoid! parking is next to the pool with the repetitive annoying mandatory music..

Lugar cerca del pueblo con espacio para acampar. Amable familia. 30 Soles por noche. Los Baños son un asco y sucísimo. Hay excrementos en los paredes. El contacto para hacer excursiones son ladrones. Me contaron de un tour al largo Sandoval son 200 Soles. A pagar estaban 380 Soles sin factura o boleta. Los días domingos es un club público con música de alto volumen hasta las 11 de la noche.

Indeed the WC were quite dirty, maybe because it's an ecolodge... Anyway, good spot to leave the van in order to visit Pto Maldonado and its jungle. Kind of kitchen available down the main house, but no fridge and no gas for cooking (suggested to Manuel to put one). Wifi is very fast. Paid 30 soles per night.

We stayed here for 5 days while visiting Lake Sandoval. We could park our 23 feet motorhome at the parking lot and connected it to the electricity. The owner Mane is very kind and friendly. They have a very good internet, a pool and serve a good meal. For big rigs it's the best place to park while visiting the area.
Paid 35 soles a night (4 people) + 1 sole per kilowatt used. In 5 days spent 30 soles of energy. While away they charged 10 soles just to park the car.

Very good place to park our motorhome close to Puerto Maldonado. Friendly owner (Mane) and daughters. The shower could be hot. Overall very good place.

Nice and friendly owners.... But... we arrived here on a weekend.... The pool was crowded. Thr Musik extremely loud. And the campground is just a parking spot for all the weekenders who come for the pool.

Lovely spot. Friendly, helpful owners and staff. Also resident and moving about are a Macaw and a monkey. Grassy area to park with some shade. Large swimming pool and a restaurant area.

Very nice stay here. The owners are super friendly and always make sure everything is fine. The dogs are very sweet, the arara sometimes screams but is so beautiful. The pool is nice and you have to pay extra for the energy. The wifi is very very good. Still 30s.

Pleasant enough spot, but not at weekends - crowded and loud music. We arrived sunday evening and nearly left due to the loud music noise. But it stops around 19:00 hrs.
Be careful where you drive in the field. Disguised by long grass, it is extremely wet and boggy in places. Price is S30 for truck & 2 people BUT that is just to park-up; everything else is extra - electric connection, use of pool etc is all additional cost. Showers are very very cold water (don't know where the water tank is, but it's certainly not in the sunshine!) and were amongst the dirtiest we have found in peru. But very nice, friendly people.

Great place and amazing people. One of our best stays in South America. We wanted to stay only one night but we stayed 2 nights in the end. We highly recommend it!

We have been there for two months with this lovely family. Charming owners. They take care of our car meanwhile we were out of the country for three months (price to be agreed). 15 soles pp to camp. Perfect site..

we spend 4 amazing days here. Blanca Manuel and their daughters are really friendly. They organised tours to Lago Sandoval and a night trek for us. Clearly one odf the best places in South America. 30 soles for our truck and 2 persons + 5 soles for our kids, with power water and good wifi. No problem with our 14 to s trucks, 4m high and 8 m long. Muchas gracias linda familia.

Grassy place with swimming pool. Friendly owner. The place was a bit messy when we were there, because much maintenance work was going on. Fast internet. PRN 30 (2 adults, camper).

Very nice place and VERY nice owners. Manuel, Blanca and their daughters are very sweet. The place is perfect for big rigs and pet friendly. Electricity at sites and very good Internet. A lot of nature, swimming pool, birds, monkeys, dogs. Awesome place!! We would love to come back!

super nice owners, with a big heart for animals. They rescued a dog and are caring for a young monkey. All respekt. Nice place, makes you feel really welcome. Nice, relaxed atmospere. Pool is not only for the hotel, but also other people, still its all cool and relaxed.
If your looking for a tour, ask Blanca, her brother offers some hikes (25s/p)and boat trips (30s/p for night trip). Showers are cold, but thats what you want in this temperature .
Ended up staying a lot longer than planed.

We had a great time. Super friendly family owners. Camped in the grounds in our combi. Plenty of space. Swimming pool gets fairly lively at weekends but they make sure it never gets rowdy. The girls loved the various animals. Overall great hospitality.

Perfect site. Our kids loved playing with the baby monkey and the parrots. 30 soles for the RV and 2 persons including agua, restrooms, shower, power ans swimming pool. 5 soles per each additional person (for instance our children). They also have hotel : 30-35 soles. For tents it is 10 soles per person with restrooms and shower.

we stayed here one night and paid 30 soles plus 4 for power. Very unstable wifi, router on-off :-(( The Villa Hermosa is in a tropical garden, with a friendly owner couple.
