Description

The McClean creek area is easily accessed from highway 66, south of Bragg Creek, but may require a higher clearance or 4x4 vehicle to access a lot of the “easy” camping.

This Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ) is not only an OHV area, but also allows free camping at large, but you must be 1km from the main forestry road. Please see the Alberta Environment & Parks website for more information and maps.

This is a beautiful area in the Alberta foothills, and is a sensitive eco system that already suffers from overuse and irresponsible recreational users. It is also a spot just over an hour from Calgary where younger crowds go for loud and sometimes over the top parties. :-(

Please use this area with respect, and of course, Leave no Trace.

Latest Check-Ins

"Registration" and 26cdD payment was required for 2 people, medium car, and small tent, without any amenities other than toilets. It's in the woods, no special view. - We prefer the "real wild camping"...
