Nice and quiet campground right on a small lake. 20$ a night, self registration, it’s like a state park. Very quiet, with sunset. No electricity. Ok for big rigs
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I almost never use campgrounds but I needed a simple spot close to I5 to regroup before landing in Oakland. reservations are required and are done through the app as described in other reviews. I find picking spots from a lisr never tells me enough about how really level , how close my neighbors etc. so I decided to go look first. the guy in the booth said he wasn't supposed to let me look before buying but let me go ahead. he cautioned me that the ranger was on his way to do rounds so I should have made the reservation as soon as I decided on a spot. since the reservations are done on line none of the reserved spots are marked. so pick a spot and then check the list. spots are clustered together. Ranger did come through and had a very authoritarian attitude. claimed I didn't have a reservation so I had to show my receipt. wasn't happy that I wasn't backed in but let it go. understandably the back in rule is for fire evacuation. since it wasn't crowded and had been raining it wasn't that risky.
nice trails. saw a big coyote on a morning hike so be aware. they were very loud at night.
hot shower! dumpsters. clean and quiet. $20 for showers and trails for 24 hours 2.5 hours from the bay area is a good deal.
This place is VERY nice! $20 per night, reserve on "recreation.gov.com." 14 nights permitted, discounts available depending on certain government passes. Operated by the US Corps of Engineers and California parks.
HOT showers in several places throughout the complex, though the one closest to us was cold only. There are at least 2 dump stations and at least 1 spigot for drinking water. At Buckhorn, there are about 8 pull-throughs. Be advised: if you are in a pull-through, your door MUST open to the road. Unfortunately, that puts the campfire and picnic table on the other side. Ranger will ask you to turn it around.
Nice lake. there's aboat ramp and life jackets to loan.
Visible (Verizon) is not bad, T-Mobile is terrible.
Beautiful views. No electricity. Has showers and toilets. But had an issue with homeless people sleeping in their car being loud and dirty with 5 dogs running free.
Report Check-InNice camping place, sites are with nice views. Not all are leveled. Toilets and showers are super old, but HOT WATER for 20$ ;)
Report Check-InThis is open again. No pay on site - you have to make a reservation at recreation.gov but as of now there's no "reservation fee" so it's still $20/night.
Report Check-InWe drove until there but we couldn’t stay because is closed until further notice (COVID-19). However, It is a very pretty campground.
Report Check-InClose because of COVID! How dumb. In Orland, I ate in a restaurant, but these campgrounds are closed. Random COVID crap.
Report Check-InIt's a nice campground to overnight in the area where there aren't many options. 20 min detour from the hwy and you are on a quiet place with a good view of mountains and lakes. Other options are usually closed by this time, but came by and was fully functional with only a handful of couple.
Report Check-InOn Easter Saturday the campground was almost full when we arrived. The price is 20 dollars. There was a ranger to collect the fee and make the registration.
It is a nice campground with flush toilets and free showers. Worth the price and detour.
There are some nice hiking/biking trails. It’s on a lake, so good for people who do fishing or boating.
No cell service.
