January 2021 - Stopped here to spend the night but there is significant damage from hurricane Laura in the area. We ended up heading toward Lake Charles thinking that would be better. The damage throughout this area is astounding. Even Lake Charles sustained substantial damage. We ended up pushing thru to Cabela’s in Gonzales. lovely peaceful and mostly empty beach. i parked at the end of the road... would not recommend driving on the beach unless you have 4x4. great surfing. some cell reception w at&t

Popped by here for the night, nice public access at the end of the road beside a house. We were told the lady is super welcoming.
We parked on the side of the road at the entrance since the sand was pretty soft. A lot of trucks and 4x4s seemed to have driven on this beach so when you get closer to the water it’s all tire tracks, which is kind of a shame. THE MOSQUITOS ARE THE WORST HERE. Make sure you’re prepared for it. Pretty sunset sunrise, pretty waves. We got a knock on our door by the locals nearby and they offered us oysters since they cooked too many! A bit weird since it was 930pm and no one around, but I have to say, everyone is very kind here!
Report Check-InParked near the end of the paved road, off to the side but not too far into the sand. Room for me and a friend on the other side. Felt funny because there is a house there! Lots of people showed up late, and many drive on the beach. OK beach, but there is quite a bit of litter around. WHY do people litter?!
Report Check-InQuiet and peaceful night. Beware to go on sand with 2wd as i got stuck (luckily a nice texan man pulled me out). Dumpster available.
Report Check-InGreat spot right on the beach, incredibly quiet just make sure to bring mosquito repellent
Report Check-InI stayed the Easter weekend here in a 24 ft RV with no problem, I just parked on the right side of the road before you hit the beach. Where I was parked was fairly level but it took a minute to find a level spot. There is a dumpster available to throw away your garbage.

Report Check-InGood spot. Quiet. There was just another van parked for the night. Cars were coming in the morning, I assume locals coming to the beach. Good Verizon signal.
Report Check-InNo issues during the night!
Just a beautiful beach and the sounds of amazing waves.
A few trucks came in last night, which I thought might be police telling me to leave, but they just did a few doughnuts in the sand, hung out for awhile, and then left. It was a peaceful, magical night and morning!
Report Check-InAwesome get away spot! I spent three days and four nights on the beach in my camper. There are rules posted and entrance of the beach. It is real, soft sand you will need 4x4 and low gears. It is completely off grid amenities. be sure to pack what you'll need for the time you plan to stay. There are a few makeshift firepits and there are rv sites just on the main road before you turn in. there's a gas station near by, I topped off as I was coming in from Texas side. Definitely recommend.
Report Check-Inbeautiful spot on the sand. lots of cars pulling in throughout the night on a Saturday night made it a bit noisy but not too bad. very windy but that made for a nice breeze. way too much garbage around and no bins. good reception with tmobile.
Report Check-InFrom Gulf beach highway 82 turn on Jim Erbelding Rd to Mae's beach. Stay on sandy parking lot if you don't drive a 4x4. Nice beach in front of petroleum structures. Quiet and dark. Free camping. No service.
Camping gratuit. Aucun service.
