we needed 6 hours on a Friday afternoon to go from pasto to the border.
was horrible.
a bit further the street is closed from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm everyday.

drove from Pasto to Ipiales in less than 3 hours. They did not stop us in any place. Maybe we were lucky

Delays today lasted 30 minutes around 2:00pm. After that, we moved at regular pace for that area.

Friday afternoon: lost at least two hours! Also: if you have a big rig, try to block the jerks driving in the other lane passing everyone!

Major road construction project is still ongoing, looks like it will be ongoing for at least 6 more months. For Pasto to/from Ipiales, plan for at least 3 hrs.

2hrs boarder-pasto. Quite smooth run with hardly any holdups and never more than a couple of minutes. We might have been lucky driving through in siesta time. Locals tell us they currently expect 3h due to the construction when they travel there, but recommend travelling sunday after 2pm when works finish. But you might be quicker just leaving when you want and arriving 3h later anyways.

Going from Pasto to Ipiales on a Sunday. We lost at least one hour due to roadworks. On an average of every few kilometers, they make you stop for 5-15 minutes. Very annoying. Don’t know if it’s better during the week.
