Description

enter gravel road at 28.552333, -114.05443
it is the same road that leads to the iOverlander wild camp "La Playa Los(t) Estonians" - we arrived late, so we didnt go all the way to the ocean front. after around 500 meters there is a big gravel pit on the left side with a fire place, so not too far from the highway but far enough to avoid noise. was ok to drive with our 2WD. stayed for one night.

Great spot after the long drive from san Felipe. If I had more time and more fuel I would have made the trek to the water for sure. I did walk halfway and looks totally possible in something with high clearance. I could have done it in my class c no problem.

When heading north watch for km 63 marker and a sign on the right side of the road “Rancho Garcia” the road into here is right across from the Rancho Garcia road.
Night we stayed there road noise from the highway only audible when transport trucks used Jake brakes. Also though about 3 locals passed by between midnight and 4 am. Coulda been because it was Semena Santa? Okay for one night.

Great boondocking. Easy with two wheel drive vans. Room for at least three vans, plus a couple other spots.

Very quiet, somewhat level, but if you have a 3-way fridge, you might need levelers.

No cell signal, but clear view of the sky.

Nice layover spot. Room for two rigs at the spot on the left, another long pull off on the right that seemed a little softer but probably doable for lighter rigs. Two other rigs came in after us and parked together just a few yards down the road more. One had a trailer and they made it to the end of the road the next morning. A few locals passed by, some waved, some stared. Overall uneventful evening spot before Guerrero Negro the next day. Doable in 2WD wide, heavy rig. Road has some divots that could be tricky for trailers, but we saw it can be done.

I stayed here two nights due to heavy rain which made me unable to reach the beach in my 2wd vehicle. During the day policia came by to check on me and to see if I needed help. The next day they came by again and searched my vehicle.
