Description

**Gate at the bridge is currently locked as site is intending to go under redevelopment so currently no fee. Park just off the highway and walk in**

Cool hot springs along the Lafayette River, just off the road. Lots of little pools in different temperatures, little steamy waterfalls, really beautiful.

There's a small fee for parking, but when it's off-season like the time we got there - completely free.

Latest Check-Ins

Weekday mid day, there were about 20 to 30 people at the springs. Pools up top by the campgrounds were to hot. Pools by the river were pretty small. Hard to find a good mix of moderate temperature water to sit in.

Interagency America the Beautiful pass is accepted though.

Went just after sunset and had the place to myself as all the daytime users were leaving as I arrived. I finished around 8 (on a Friday) and parking lot had quite a few new vehicles and it sounded like may of them headed down later in the evening.

Large area with multiple pools to explore. Be sure to bring flashlight/headlamp if visiting at night and sturdy water shoes/sandals.

We parked off the highway in the dirt pullout then walked over the bridge so we didn’t have to pay the parking fee. Had not problems. The water at the very top of the springs is not pooled, but it is 150 degrees or so, so if you walk through them be extra careful. The main area with pools is beautiful, although overcrowded on the weekend. The waterfalls felt wonderful, the varied pool sizes, depths, and temperatures made it easy to find one to suit your needs. It was hot outside when we went, so cooling off in the ones closest to the river was the most enjoyable. Considering the amount of people here it was very clean and still overall calm and relaxing. The sound of the rapids in the river drown out excess noise. Would recommend checking these out even if you don’t end up soaking.
