Mexico
A cave similar to Sótano de Las Golondrinas, but much less touristic. It has great viewpoints, you can come to the edge and have a look inside. Amazing spectacle. More impressive is to watch the birds going into the cave in the evening than going out in the morning.
There is a small camping site (tents only) in the middle of the way between the entrance and the cave, next to the toilet and cold showers.
Entry fee 40 pesos plus 30 pesos per person for camping.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Price still $100mxn/pp. We weren't pressed for a guide, and one isn't needed as the path is clear. Did see formal tourist groups with guides.
Stayed overnight in the street parking outside the entrance. Very peaceful and no issues.
Report Check-InWOW, not go be missed! The tent camping is a hike down but looks amazing! We paid 200 pesos for two people and they had no problem with us turning down a guide.
Report Check-InPrice is now 100 pesos per person to visit the cave! Probably the locals idea of a Corona Help Fund...
Also a guide is now mandatory, although we used the confusion after paying and entering and just took off without waiting for anyone to accompany us. No one seemed to have a problem with that.
Camping in a car is only possible on the side of the road.
Report Check-InSmall parking lot where we spent a night after visiting a Huahuas Pit.
We asked locals if we can stay on parking lot during night and they said yes, of course. They told us it is safe. We had quiet night.
Incroyable trou avec plein d oiseaux. Ca grimpe pas mal maus c est vraiment chouette.
Report Check-InEntry 40 pesos pp. A guide is not obligatory or needed, the path is easy to follow (ca. 30 min). Impressive to see the adventurous types rappel down the cave and watch the birds enter in the evening. They started to come in around 16:20, and they were still arriving at 17:20 when we had to leave. Note: camping is for tents only at this place and your car will be on the streetside parking lot. They told us we could camp in the lot in our RV, but because it is so open we didn’t do it.
Report Check-InCampsite for tents only, no vehicle access. No real other option for overnight parking. We couldn’t stay.
