Something not right?

Description

Established picnic and barbecue area with lots of space for camping, tables, BBQ, toilets. There is a road around the south side of the reservoir that has access to the shore. As it was quite rainy and muddy, we opted to stay in the trees a little further up.

Hermoso y tranquilo lugar.

No longer free - 300 per person plus 600 per vehicle…

Report Check-In

A great spot as described. For reference the electricity points are on poles close to the dam wall extension, under some pine trees

It's like a campsite, but without the Wi-Fi. Although I had 4G half of the time. Free and beautiful. Road noise acceptible. Cleaned up a lot of trash.

Vivendo.Estradas
quem quiser dar uma conferida.

There has been a party ACROSS THE LAKE for over 30 hours now. It's still going but I am leaving. Seriously, this is by far the loudest music I have ever heard. Even this far, I can still feel the vibrations of the music down in my stomach. Earplugs do nothing. Everyone there must be deaf and on coke. The place itself isn't bad. Clean toilets, few families having a barbecue, clean toilets. If it wasn't for the neighbor trying to break the world record of the loudest raggaeton, this would be a great place.
Oh and to make things worst, their DJ, who is supposedly the "mas top del Paraguay", is terrible : The playlist loops every 45 minutes or so! Like come on, if you are to have a 30+ hour party, at least make sure people wont hear the same thing all freaking night! I guess the bar for DJing in Paraguay must be very low!
Edit : I wanted to sleep here after visiting Iguazu, thinking the party would be over. Nope. 3 days later, it is still going, just as loud as ever. When do Argentinians sleep?! They are houses around! Poor people... Guess it's back to the YPF for tonight!

The place is ok. You can park close to the entrance or further down by the lake (with a 4WD as it's slippery).
Quiet during the day but can get pretty loud as kids come driving around the lake with super loud music all night.
Good camping spot if you head early to the waterfalls in the morning.

free municipal campsite. electricity shower wc. facing the lake. not recommended for swimming. red earth floor, very slippery in rainy weather.

camping municipal gratuit.

Mejor imposible.

Lovely peaceful spot for lunch and a swim, we didn’t stay the night. Grills, picnic tables etc. If you go down to the lake wear shoes- lots of broken glass!

Report Check-In

As described. It had been wet and the red earth of death had me sliding sideways like I was on ice. Had to switch to 4L but nothing is really that steep. I came back to the first bunch of trees on the left as you drive in. Good for a night out two I guess.

Very nice camping . Electricity passing the restrooms inside the woods . BBQ , showers (cold), very nice lake to swim and a cute dog asking for food🧡 she needs overlander’s love.
Although a guy at the entrance ask for collaboration .
The entrance road seems muddy but it is not. It is safe for any vehicle.

This place is top. Its really a picnic spot with tables, barbecues, showers and toilets. Its may not be evident to find a good flat spot close to tables. plenty ofbshade under giant pines. You can swim or fish in reservoir- free camping. Bathrooms are only open weekend.

Report Check-In

They have, electricity, a shower and toilets now (if the nice host shows up and open them). All free! Nice place

Report Check-In

A really nice spot. Lots of picnic benches and grills up in the trees and they are currently building a toilet block. Not sure when it will be finished but they're onto tiling now.

Report Check-In

The road looked freshly graded. No ruts, tracks or mud. Many new picknick places.

We stayed there 3 nights with our van and tent. Very simple to access, Nice place, great sunset and a lot of wood to burn on the BBQ. Very Nice.

As you drive west on RN12 away from Iguazu, the side road turns off just after passing the Camp Uruguay Park on the same side of the road. Approximately 1 km in there is another track off to the left that goes down to the waters edge and is used at weekends it seems for boat launching on to the reservoir. There are two places in the trees on the right to camp, one with a temporary fire pit. As usual there is a fair amount of rubbish around but nowhere near as bad as some places we have stayed. If the entrance road is wet we recommend not to go in as there were clear signs that it quickly gets rutted and muddy after rain. Free.....with no facilities although a quick swim in the reservoir is very refreshing.
