Description

In the comments of the "Playa Santa Maria" spot 300 meters away people speak about two different locations, so I added this one here. There is a sandy parking lot down at the beach, reachable via a gate with personell and a sandy road and also there is the new parking lot a bit away from the beach, where there is a gate, which is open from 7 am to 7 pm. This entry is about the new public beach parking lot, just off the highway on a newly paved road.
So this is a really great spot regarding facilities, beach, snorkeling, swimming, safety (24 h camera). This is not a too great spot to camp and cook around your vehicle. We did it anyways and I am pretty sure its OK. Nobody bothered us. For lazy camper beach days next to your van choose another spot, but everything else is fantastic.

It is a new parking lot 2 minute walk away from the beach. There are warm showers (warm in the afternoon), trash bins, toilets and a drinking water dispenser. The facilities are new and are same style as you usually have them at US beaches. They are right next to the parking lot, clean and were open all night.

If you walk down to the beach there is an info booth, a very clean beach, great snorkeling on the right hand side of the beach, rentals for SUPs, kayaks and stuff like that. It was not crowded when we were there.
We stayed one night at the parking lot. just follow the signs to "public beach".

I think the other spot down at the beach is still reachable aswell, but nobody was down there when we were there and the gravel road looked a bit too sandy for our 2WD anyways. For this one you dont follow the public beach sign but turn right through the gate, over the bridge and then down the gravel road I guess. Check it out on MAPS.ME.

free WIFi from the resort down at the beach when we were there.

no dogs allowed down at the beach.

Latest Check-Ins

Easy parking for a night, just for sleeping. Not for staying.

Report Check-In

great spot, seemingly safe parking lot with warm showers 24/7 (summer), trash, bathrooms, picturesque Beach with easy access. keep it clean, maintenence crew passes thru every morning and we don't need to give them a reason to clamp down on overlanders

Report Check-In

Nice parking lot with a couple of flat spots that open up when everybody leaves the beach in the evening. Toilets and showers are working. There is a sign that says there is no camping allowed at the beach.

We got unlucky and the cleaning crew woke us up at 5:30 with a loud blower, also the car is now caked in sand 😅

Report Check-In

Clearly posted no camping sign if you read the information board.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 2 nights with 3 other vans and had a great time. Parking lot is crowded during the day with beach goers, then quiets around dusk. A few flat spots available. Showers were somewhat warm around 5pm, but fairly cold for me around 8am the day before. Still an amazing spot, please be respectful and as stealth as possible.

Report Check-In

Cold water showers are WARM at 7am! I ran them for a while and they remained warm

Report Check-In

Great free spot to park! Kinda need to be stealth because it is a paved public access to the playa however there are a lot of other vans here , all being respectful of this gift of a perfect place to park safely between the Cabos. Very roomy with all facilities mentioned . So appreciative of this spot !

Report Check-In

Great spot ! Pulled in late and had no issues parking. Slept great. Bathrooms open all night is a plus !

Report Check-In

This place was not great. Highway noise and music from the beach club and people partying in the parking lot. Beach is so-so. Showers were nice but not uncommon at public beaches in Los Cabos. Moved to a better spot 15 min closer to town

Report Check-In

Yep. Just as all said. been here two nights, going for a third.

Report Check-In

Nice parking lot, showers and toilets running, some people listening to music until 10pm then left. Amazing sunset at the beach!

Report Check-In

Have camped here several nights at a time. No problems, no police. Bathrooms and showers. No dogs on beach.

Report Check-In

As of today, we are camping our first night here just as a test. No problems, no people. It’s Saturday night and there are several other cars here just before midnight people partying on the beach. We are camping in the parking lot not on the beach which is prohibited

Report Check-In

We just measured the clearence under the bridge with laser. It is 3.47 metres (11 feet and 4 inches) in the lowest point on the right and 3.54 m in the middle.

Report Check-In

Great spot for overnight parking.

Quiet and relax place. And it has free showers!

Parking lot is pretty clear and we felt safe.

Report Check-In

Parked here for the night, relatively easy to find, wasn't bothered. Woke up at 8AM on a Sunday to the noise of multiple families parking nearby and unloading for a beach day. Parking further from the bathrooms might have avoided this

Report Check-In

This spot is just as described. Clean bathrooms and showers! Close to the highway but just far enough away that we couldn’t hear any noise. They are doing some construction close by but that started after we woke up around 830 am. Not a prime camp out and cooking space as others have stated, but a perfect spot outside of Cabo to stay for a night or two. We spent a couple hours doing minor repairs on the van in the morning and no one bothered us! Beach goers started arriving around 8 am! Clearance under the bridge was plenty for our high roof Promaster, you would have no issue with most rigs except particularly high toy haulers. We felt safe here. Great spot!

Report Check-In

Spent one night here by ourselves without issue. A little weird when a car parked legit right next to us at midnight when the other 50 spots were all open, but they left after a few hours. As described, showers, garbage, recycling, and bathrooms are available. 1-2 bars LTE on ATT. FREE!

Report Check-In

Great place to spend the night! I hope everyone respects the neighbours and keeps quiet. Nice beach and bathroom’s too.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot to stay! A paved parking lot with toilets, outdoor showers & beach. There’s good snorkeling on the right side of the beach. Part of a conservatory so there’s more rules than other beaches: no fishing, no pets, no loud music, etc. Staff at both the beach & bathroom to enforce rules. Parking lot fills up quickly almost everyday. We would stay here again.

Nous avons un camping-car de 3m12cm de hauteur. Nous avons pu passer sous le pont. Il devait y avoir encore 30cm de plus. Je dirais que la hauteur est max 3.50m

Report Check-In

We were here two nights, alone.
clean bathrooms but no paper.
good outer showers with warm water.
Great snorkeling !

** consider there's a bridge before entering. Class C with air conditioning without problems. see picture**

Estuvimos dos noches aquí, nadie nos molestó.
Noche tranquila (al menos en la semana).
Buenos baños pero sin papel. Duchas exteriores con agua tibia.
Increíble el snorkeling ! Muchos peces !

Considerar que hay un puente antes de entrar. Nuestro clase C con aire acondicionado entró sin problemas. Ver fotos !

Nice beach, very popular. People coming by late and early in the morning. Got a wake-up call from the loud music at 5AM. Noise from the road and an annoying sound (wee-wee-wee…) from a building nearby but not all the time. Good for 1 night. Bring your toilet paper.

Report Check-In

parking lot so not nice as beach but really cool to have showers and toilet. this beach is really beautiful

Report Check-In

nice spot with toilets and outdoor showers, not great for dogs as the ravines around the parking lot.

Report Check-In

Nice paved parking lot with an overpass you need to go under to get here. I would think anything bigger than a class c would fit here. We had to back in and thankfully there was room in the back. Two vans and another class c the night we were there.

Great snorkeling to the right of the beach. Lots of vendors on the beach with chairs, umbrellas, drinks, snorkel rental, kayaks etc.

24 hour video surveillance. Felt safe and fairly quite. Best part it’s free.

Report Check-In

We stayed here in a promaster with solar panels and a maxair fan. We fit under the bridge with a little wiggle room left.
It is as described, a paved beach parking lot with bathrooms, outdoor showers, and trash cans. Its a very nice beach, with security cameras for the parking lot. We slept great, not too much noise after sunset, a party in a neighboring condo provided music, but it wasn't bad. We saw a firework show the neighbors had, pretty awesome.
We may stay a 2nd night as the snorkeling here and at Playa Chileno is pretty cool 😎

Report Check-In

We were so excited to go there and then were too tall to fit under the over pass so couldn't go. So disappointing! We are a slide-in truck camper with kayaks on top.

Report Check-In

Nice and clean paves parking, far enough from the highway. Clean bathroom and outside shower open 24h. Crowed during the day bit quiet at night. There is a nice spot for snorkling on the beach

Report Check-In

Pretty good spot away from the town. Had bathrooms and showers!!!!!!!
Gets busy in day but pretty relax at night.
Stayed here 3 nights no problem. I have a dog, just no dogs on beach....... silly.
If u can get on ur roof wifi is besst!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Just wanted to clarify on the clearance issues. You have to go under a bridge to enter the parking lot. We are almost 11ft tall and made it no problem. I would guess it is 12ft or 4meters

Report Check-In

Spent a night at the video surveilled parking lot. We were first alone, but many locals came at (Fr) night to stroll at the beach or wash their car at midnight.
Felt safe, had great bathroom and outside cold showers both open 24h.

Snorkeling at right end of beach is a must and awesome. You are literally swimming among colorful fishes. One of the best places in Baja.

Report Check-In

We didn't camp here as it was too hot, and no shade for our dogs.
But I did want to clarify the clearance statement made in a previous post. Our rig is about 11 ish feet tall with the surf bag and rocket box on top and we fit under the over pass with still a solid foot of clearance. I would guess the height to be around 12 feet, maybe a tad bit taller.

Bathrooms, showers and facilities were awesome, and definitely on par with what you see at nicer public beaches in the states. Womens bathroom had no TP on a Saturday afternoon so scout ahead !

Report Check-In

Perfect spot to overnight. The beach is short walk away. But it's so beautiful!
Warm showers, restrooms open all night and for free! We slept in our van with door wide open and felt safe. The gate was open all night, there was some cars going in and out, but night was quiet and peaceful.

Report Check-In

The best free parking lot for overnight stay, very comfortable and very safe with 24 hours security camera. Well maintained facilities with wifi signal! Highly recommended in comparison with the other wild campsites in whole BCS!! We love this place!!

Report Check-In

Not very flat, but ok.
Free wifi and drinking water.
Plus the warm showers and clean flush toilets.
Quiet at night, even on a Friday.
Three other campers when we were there.
Not ideal for tent camping, but did it for one night.

Report Check-In

it is public beach parking lot. once you exit the highway, keep on the left side of the road to go to parking lot. it is busy during the day due to people coming in to go to the beach. but quiet at night. it has toilet and also outside shower for free. there is clearance to get into this parking lot tho.. it didnt say, but if you are 9 feet and below you should be fine. about 15-20 minutes to city center.

Report Check-In

Large parking lot, very slim picking on level spots though. A lot of highway noise. Bathrooms and showers available all night. Woman’s was in bad condition this night. Playa Viudo is prettier and much quieter, but we were the only ones there at 8pm and spouse wasn’t comfortable so we came here. Three other campers already here.

Report Check-In

*dont get confused with the other spot at the beach, this is just the beach parking up hill where you don’t really have a view.*
We arrived around 6:30pm on a Tuesday. The parking lot was empty. We took the closest place to the toilet building, it is more levelled. Super quiet at night and safe with the 24 hours camera. The toilets are open all night i think. There is a fancy campground or hotels across the fence.

Report Check-In

Come in late at night. Few other cars. Felt Very safe. Police drove by and No problem. Little noise from the Hwy. Good place for overnight or day
