Report Check-In

We stayed here for 5 nights. Pretty much the only place to stay for free near Yosemite.
This place gets pretty busy, even considering the time of year. I'm sure summer is packed.
PLEASE park perpendicular to the road if you park by the fence. We made the mistake of parking parallel the first night and noticed we took up 2-3 spots because everyone else had parked the other way.
Gas and groceries just down the road. Groceries are honestly cheaper in Yosemite Village though.

Report Check-In

5 stars for the amazing sky at night, and lots of shooting stars. It also feels great to get into a pond in the river, especially after days of no shower.

much more than 7 or 8 can fit on either side, there are gravel lots too that start filling up once the crowds really start gathering. lots of people, many different kinds of vans and RVs. bathrooms are at the motel lobby down the street or the diner, kind of far though

Report Check-In

We stayed in the pull off on the north side of the road. There were probably 20 vans or RV's in the surrounding area when we woke up. Plenty of space, just highway traffic. Great access to Yosemite. Probably 25 minutes from here to the valley. Walkable to the lodge for food or drinks.

Report Check-In

Literally on the side of the road with the Yosemite NP sign in front of you. There’s 7 Rigs on the north side of the road and 8 on the south side, basically at capacity. Lots of road noise before 10pm for a Sunday.

Report Check-In

This is a free place to park on the road side near Yosemite entrance. There is loads of traffic and other people parking. Of all my iOverlander places I’ve slept over the past 3 months, this is my least favorite, but it is free, next to river, and near park entrance.

I’m not a fan though. Minimal sleep.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 4 nights. Great spot. Quiet after around 8:30pm, right next to the river. Varying amounts of other travelers.

Report Check-In

stayed 2 nights here. very good place to go to hiking in the park. So pleasant to bath and have some rest time in the river after a hard day !
bit too noisy with the road

Report Check-In

Stayed one night, river was nice and road was quiet at night

Report Check-In

slept here 4 night with a bunch of other poeple. no problem and pretty dark at night. 20 minute from the valley. great spot!

Report Check-In

Stayed here 2 nights! Really nice sat by the river and a good spot to sleep. There were 13 campers there across both sides of the road on our first night! Some people we met had stayed there 7 nights in a row! There is a pizza place in the lodge 200m down the road and toilets in the lobby too.

Report Check-In

busy! buggy! but lovely water with small rock ponds to bathe in.

Report Check-In

Good place, exactly like described, crowded but quiet.

Report Check-In

Still a good spot for overnight before entering Yosemite. Everthing as mentioned below.

Report Check-In

Parking near the road for 10 about 10 cars. RVs can also fit.
On the other side of the road along the river, there is place for 10 more.
5 minutes from the East Entrance and 20 minutes from the Visitor Center.
Stayed 4 nights.
In summer, arrive at 5pm you will be the first, 6pm you will have place, 7 and 8 pm you can still have a place but uncertain.
As it is right in the front the Yosemite National Park sign, there is traffic around 8am where people stop there to take a photo with the sign.
No amenities and no signal

Report Check-In

Really good spot for overnight stay! Room for max 15-20 cars. No facilities here. Please share the space with the other campers. :)

Report Check-In

Litterally at the park entrance.
Spent two nights there. The name is good because it’s true. A bit funny when you open it in Google though.

We had doubts on our way in because of the many « no camping/overnight parking » signs... they are everywhere except on that little pull off. The signs say to not make fire instead. We got there at 5pm and 6pm. It fills up a bit later and overflows across the street, even though there’s a sign prohibiting it.

To fit more vehicles (24ft max), please park perpendicular to the road.

Report Check-In

Stayed there for two nights. The place was almost full on both sides.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 2 nights. It was super close to Yosemite Valley. Technically there is a no camping or sleeping in car sign on the river side of the road. However there were 10 RVs parked along here. There is another spot on the other side but it is much smaller. Lots of road noise and the van was pushed some since you are basically parked on the road.

Report Check-In

Just two minutes from the Park Entrance, excellent place to sleep overnight. After 8pm is very quiet because the traffic of the park slow down and we were able to sleep until 8am without problems. There is no signs that deny to stay there during the night. The river is on the other side of the road so you can get fresh water.

Report Check-In

Good for a night. The road is loud but quiet at night.

Report Check-In

basic parking next to the road. the best place in the sense of accessibility, not necessarily the spot itself. road s quite busy but traffic dies down at night. river (quite nice) on the other side of the road. stayed 2 nights so far, one alone, one with 2 other campers.

Report Check-In

the parking near the road. A lot of van and rv in this place. We stayed 5 nights in this place. 20 minutes to Yosemite valley
