Public car park right next to the ferry terminal where overnight parking is allowed. Particularly good if you are leaving the Northumberland Ferry (turn right just before toll booths) or arriving (turn left after toll booths) Great view to the west. Some noise from ferry workers and arriving vehicles but it is not objectionable. PEI Visitor Center up the road might be better if you want a quieter spot.
At the ferry terminal, there's Wi-Fi (not fast), outdoor water tap, some outlets to plug in portables, dog park, and sorting receptacles for recycling and compost. In season, there may be an open snack place at the harbor fishing pier. Beware of mosquitoes and no bathroom access after the terminal closes.
The nearby Wood Islands Historic Lighthouse (no overnight parking posted) is a good area to visit and walk with lots of green space and a good view of the ferries coming and going.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Slept there one night to take the ferry the next day. Toilets are available during opening hours.

We arrived around 10pm and there were a few cars parked there. It’s a straight parking and it has no toilets or anything. No one bothered us and it was very quiet.
Report Check-InFairly straight parking. We arrived around 6. Some workers left until the last ferry and didn't mind us at all. 2 big rig with slide out arrived later so can definetly say it is fine to spend the night. Toilet when the office open. Nice sunset over the water.
Report Check-InQuiet parking lot with a spectacular view. We even spotted a Bald Eagle! Ferry terminal closes at 730pm, so no washrooms available until first ferry at 6am. Jug-filled our water tank from spigot outside.
Report Check-InGreat quiet (but bright) parking lot to sleep overnight if you’re catching an early ferry/getting off the ferry late.
Report Check-InVery nice spot even though it is a car park as it has a great view. next to the ferry so a bit noisy until the last one departs. we asked a lady if we could stay overnight she said its absolutely fine.
