Description

Seasonal nature of their rafting business (July - November) leaves this place, run by very friendly owners, open for the rest of the year for overlanders and perhaps even smaller RVs (<24Ft)

Owners live on the property, which is shaded by variety of mature trees. They have two friendly dogs which patrol the grounds at night.

Easy access from the road, good and secure parking adjunct to resting area with tables & chairs, hammacks, clean flush style toilets, showers (cold).

It is possible to fill your garafons.

I had 2 bars on Telcel, 3 bars at night.

The place is easy walking distance to Jalcomulco (1km / pop. 6,000).

* Charge is 50 pesos per person traveling in smaller vehicles (<20Ft)
* RVs would have to negotiate.

I did stay for 2 nights and it was one of the most friendly encounters I had so far in MX (37 days and counting....)

Latest Check-Ins

This was an incredible experience for us. Such a calm place as this is 1 km from the village so you are closer to the nature. Isabel and Raul are great people, super fun to talk to, knowledgeable and very nice.

We took a rafting experience on the first day as well and we can’t recommend it enough! Great guide, fun challenging river, yet also easy enough for total beginners as us. 3 hours of great fun!

Everything you need they have really: water, showers, shade, hammocks, toilets, tables. They can recommend some hikes or cool activities to do in the area, can recommend places to eat in the puebla, you name it!

We stayed only two nights because we had to rush for the boat in Veracruz, but if possible we would have stayed longer. After two months in Mexico, this was definitely our favorite stay! We felt like staying with long known friends :)

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time with Isabel, Raul and their team. Given our size (9m long, almost 4m high( we had contacted them beforehand to make sure we would fit and Isabel was super helpful and sending pictures and videos to give us a sense of the place available. We paid $200/night for camping and had also a kayak tour booked with them.
Note, this is mainly a rafting and adventure business not an actual campground, but they do have some space available for overnight camping. They give preference to those who also book activities with them, but if enough space is open anyone could camp. It's probably best to check-in with them prior to arrival. You can reach Isabel at +52-228-194-9336 or Raul at +52-228-178-2234.
They have showers (cold water) and bathrooms available for use as well as free wifi which we could receive at our camp spot. Electricity and water are not yet available. They told us that can't really accommodate guests with dogs/pets since their own two dogs are rather territorial - only to other dogs though, they were very friendly with us!
It's just a 10-15 minute walk into town, but they also offered us a ride and actually showed us around town a bit which was very nice!
We haven't really had any bad experiences in Mexico, but this was certainly one of the most warm and hospitable experience we had so far.
