Chilambwe Falls camp site and water fall | Established Campground

Lovely place. We did not spend the night but we would have stayed if we had more time. Limited facilities but beautiful setting.

Pay at the gate at the main road.
Then it’s a 2km drive down a good but narrow track.
Campsite fits max 3 vehicles.
Everything was well maintained and very clean.
Peaceful place between trees.
Not for big rigs

As a campsite, apart from a pit toilet, there are no installations (maybe a fireplace). We paid 10 US $ for 2 persons (which was actually a misunderstanding since at the barrier, they thought we were only visiting and not staying overnight, actually, it would be 15 US $ per person which is maybe a bit overpriced). The place is very lively and rural, though, on the way to the falls, we crossed a mixed plantation of bananas, cane, cassava, mango, guava, with an interesting irrigation system derived from the river. We climbed uphill to the rim of the falls and found a place for a dip.

Great waterfall well worth a visit. Basic camp site very basic. Long drop toilet. 1 site. Water falls are 5 minutes walk from camp site. Office price is 15USD camping and 5 USD for car. We negotiated and paid 50ZK pppn. It's worth the 40km drive from Chimshimba Falls.
