We had an oil leak on the rear differential case on a Hilux. Quick diagnosis and very professional intervention the next morning in 3 hours, when it's a big job. Very kind welcome and the boss takes news several days after the operation. I highly recommend !!

Went here to have our LR Defender Puma headlights checked which ceased to work correctly during the bad corrugation road from Moz. But CANNOT RECOMMEND!!
Sameer took the job and searched for the fault for over 3hrs, but didn’t initially find the fault. We left and he didn’t want to take money (no fix, no money). Then after about a half an hour he sent an SMS wanting to check again one thing and we went back. This time he found the fault, the combination indicator switch (which we had suggested to him in the first place). A new part from Malawi (Britpart, so not good) would’ve been $100, which is too expensive for a cheap and not great quality part), so he ended up doing a bush fix and bridgeing the wires so that our headlights worked again (just not the low beam). This solution was a bad mistake!!! It caused several short circuits that we had to sort out in Lusaka for over 1,5 weeks! Sameer also asked a lot from us how things went afterwards and promised several times to send us our money back beacuse he caused a LOT of trouble with bad decisions — but he NEVER DID!! Cannot recommend this place. Maybe when we drive through Chipata again we will go and fetch our money back…

Super duper nice guys, and extremely knowledgeable mechanics. They are the go to people in this area when something needs to be done once correctly.
Actual engineering knowledge underpins their diagnostics and they have good facilities to sort things out. Thus they can competently work on any vehicle make. Large grounds so take lunch and eat under a shady tree.
I had a service on my Land Rover Defender and a big inspection in which their eagle eyes found every issue. Parts were available from Malawi, but were extremely expensive for cheap Britpart (not these guys fault).
DHL will deliver from U.K. using lrdirect.com, took 4 days, no import tax charged.
I left with faith that my vehicle was in better condition as opposed to being badly patched up as is often the case with mechanics in Africa.
Highly recommend...

We had a very good experience with Sameer and the guys at AMW. Quick diagnosis of the problem, fan belt chafing from failed tension pulley bearing and failing water pump bearing (Land Rover). Sameer managed to source a replacement water pump from Malawi for next day (a bit of luck involved). Follow up service very good.

We had outstanding service from Khalid and his son Sameer. The crank pulley had worked loose and sheared the crank shaft key and made a mess of the keyway. They engineered a solution that got us home. Great job, friendly and helpful service. highly recommended.
