Description

Centro de Convenciones EL GRAN PALMAR, Hotel y Restaurante. Best spot to spend the night before the border. It’s a restaurant and hotel with outdoor gardens and patio, grassy field, and play areas and trampoline for kids; lots of trees. The staff are very friendly. They allowed us to camp here for free in their parking/grass field if we used their restaurant, or pay Q150 for the night for both of us. Like all hotels around here, it is on the highway so you will hear traffic noise but it is at least set farther back and you can go as far back into the field as you wish.

There are bathrooms for use off the patio, and a bathroom with a shower inside the restaurant/convention area. There are two security guards at night. They allowed us to use a plug-in for electricity.

We drove up and down the highway trying to find a good spot to sleep in our van and this was the only spot that met our sleeping needs as well as having a safe and relaxing ambiance.

We stayed one night at this beautiful place on our way to Salvador.
Administration, name and so the rules changed but not all the staff is aware apparently.
We ate in the restaurant and in the end paid q90 for staying the night, but new owner made us clear that eating is separate and staying the night is q150 for 2 persons.

New name of this place is Valle del Sol.

Toilets, shower available. Cold water though.

Beautiful spot off main road so a bit noisy from traffic. Has clean toilets and showers plus the restaurant is nice, if a bit on the expensive side. The owner was amazing and extremely helpful. My girlfriend was very ill and he offered us a lift to the pharmacy to help solve the issue we paid 50Q for the night.

Awesome place ! Whole family are so friendly and welcoming - and everyone speaks English !! We stayed one night on the way to El Salvador and we were treated like family. The restaurant food was great and there is lots of room to camp in the yard out back ( far from the road if you want ). Super clean toilets and shower - and close to the border. They don’t have wifi yet but it is coming !

It was pouring down quite heavily and they offered us a private room for 100Q, if that interests you when you visit. Bathrooms, shower, restaurant, and lounge area outside. No Wifi available.
