Latest Check-Ins

We arrived today and gaurd at gate said the place is closed.

Report Check-In

This place is closed at the moment, there are many other nice places, for exempel Sabana Beach Resort

Report Check-In

The place is closed for some time. The guard at the gate told us that it's closed because there are problems with people. We didn't get to understand what the problem is, with whom, or how long it will last.
We ended up at Karkaro, unfortunately.

A luxury lodge still being finished. Rooms looking very good, but restaurant, bar and surrounding area still needs work. Camping is possible on the beach, but abolution block is still lacking. Price $5,- pppn. No wifi.

We complained, because there was no water, so no toilet, no shower.
No cold drinks because there was no electricity. We could stay for free.

Good be a nice spot at the end of this year when they are finished.

Report Check-In

Just like Mantoco said, this is an excellent place, although a bit strange! It’s a resort-like place with bungalows (for 130 USD a night!) and a large staff - but no guest. During the two nights we stayed, there were no other guests except for a photo shoot going on. Not that that’s a problem, it makes it even better.

The water in the lake is *really* brown, but safe for swimming. Toilets next to reception are nice and even have toilet paper from time to time. Showers and toilets closer to the camp site are old and run down.

There’s a restaurant on site, which we didn’t use, but the menu showed prices at about three times what you see in normal restaurants. Beer as about 30 birr.

Tried to charge us 10 USD per person, but after saying that our German friends stayed for 137 birr (5 USD) ppn, they happily gave us the same price.

A piece of paradise for Ethiopia! A resort hotel that lets you camp overlooking Lake Langano.
A clean sandy beach/ lakeshore with palm trees and manicured gardens. The resort is under renovation but this does not disturb the camping.Restaurant & bar looks very nice however maybe expensive for overlanders. Toilet & shower old but works. Toilet also at reception. Fire pit & nice views.
Front house manager Tarer very helpful .
275 birr for 2 people camping per night.
A far better option than Karkaro Camp 10 kms north as the ablutions were dirty and staff unfriendly and unhelpful.

Report Check-In

What a place! A huge sandy beach with palm trees, protected by high cliffs on your left hand. The young and friendly manager Teshome Tafese and his stuff welcome you to camp anywhere you want. It's 135 Birr ppn. The Resort is under restauration, but nearly finished and working doesen't disturb you. The abolutions are old but clear and working. New abolution block is under construction. Restaurant and Bars are open. Weekend could be well visited, but during the week the beach is yours.
Seems like a little paradies...
