Report Check-In

We arrived at dark, but the campground looks decent and was a trip to get to at night. only staying 1 night, but I hear there's a pit toilet and some panthers! it is dirt road for about 6 miles after the last paved road to get here and as most people with 9ft rigs said "we scraped by getting in". Also there's a faded sign at the entrance/payment station saying the gate closes at 8pm and it is $12/night now.

This place was amazing. Stayed here three days. Saw panther, Bear and many birds. $12 per night. Vault toilet only. Florida Trail is accessible as it goes right through the space.

**DO NOT PUT COORDINATES INTO GPS**
It will take you the back way that used to be the entrance before it became a developed campground. Even entering Hopkins Prairie directly may bring you the wrong way so be careful! There’s no actually entrance that way and YOU WILL GET STUCK!! The road quickly turns into sugar sand. We got lucky when we walked over to the campground there was an awesome pair of guys willing to help us and pulled us right out after 9+ hours of digging and a sleepless night.

Beautiful place! I was here on a Sunday night with only one other person. $11 to camp in tent or trailer. Lots of sites, 21 I think. There are grills, picnic tables and a pit toilet. Get here at sunset and you won’t regret it!
