Slow and not very professional. We came with a problem and we left with another one without fixing the first one. He touched something on out brakes system then it made my pedal pretty loose. When I told him he said that he touched nothing but we saw him. We went to another place for brakes and they fixed the problem. Don't go !

worst experience ever... highly NOT recommanded, even if you have a kombi as we do ! we stay one week for a problem with the gear box... the man worked one hour per day on our engine (he started to work around 2pm... stop at 4). After one week,for a job wich can be done in one day, the problem was not fix... he did something else instead. he asked us 9000 pesos (+ 4000 de Repuesto) but when we asked thé First time it was supposed to be 6000. maybe if you are lucky and come the good day for a small problem, he can do it... if not it will be your worst experience if your trip like us. And we are not alone in that case : since we went there, we met 3 other couple who came at his place and had the same issue (even worst for one of them). Do yourself a favor : go somewhere else...

not such a good place for kombi... the guy is reaaaaaally slow and the place is not clean. he said to come the monday ans started to work 2 days after... on the afternoon ! if you can go somewhere else : run for it !

Don't go here !! Few weeks later this horrible moment... We just realized that Jose sells parts of his old kombi... But these parts were totally destroyed and we have to change it again...

Highly recommended. We had two issues with the van (the door wouldn't close properly and the suspension made noises on our Fiat Ducato). He was very friendly and helpful, took a test drive to check the problem with the suspension and fixed the door. He wouldn't say a price when we asked, please have the decency to pay him just as we did, which he gladly accepted.

NOT recommended. If you can postpone your reparations for a few hundred km to reach Rio Gallegos for instance, do it. You will spare time and money and surely avoid some more future problems.
Jose is surely a kombi lover but your kombi will not love him!
We arrived with a small problem that required important reparations (turns out we had to change our alternator), but that he repaired quite poorly and with bad quality pieces. The alternator that he sold us was not new but supposed to be quite unused, well we ended up stuck because of it some 1000km after. Now we managed to repair it but we know that sometime we’ll have to change the alternator which is a piece that is changed very few times in the life of a car... Plus he “does not like electricity” and almost started a fire in our dashboard!!

jose es una gran persona, atenta y predispuesta todo el tiempo. llegue a el con una urgencia para cambiar un ruleman de rueda trasera en mi Kombi, y no tuvo ningún problema en ayudarme en el momento a pesar del trabajo que estaba realizando. recomendado 100%

jose fue de mucha ayuda para que pueda resolver un problema en la Kombi en el día, mucha predisposición. y muy amable. recomendado 100%. pudimos hacer un cambio de rulemanes en una tarde gracias a el.

Do not go there!! Yes it is the only mechanic for kombi in el calafate, maybe if it is a small thing José can be helpful. But he's not organized, his taller is messy. We had another problem on our kombi after José's work... he sold us old parts of his own motor.. and we have to change it again. And thinking about ending our trip. Worst experience ever!!!

If you have the opportunity... Dont go here ! If you have a small problem he will fixed it really quickly. But if you need to pull out the motor (for exaemple) it'll be another story. José starts working around 3pm and he's really slow (if one local come here, he will stop the job to help the local before)... He's garage is a big mess and he lost lot of small stuff from the motor. But he's a really good person and knows lot about kombis and other mechanics. He asked a price really fair. In one sentence : dont go here if you have a big problem, for a small stuff he's the guy

We came with our combi T2 to find a “polea del generator “ he didn’t have it but done a very good job on the hold one and looks like knew!
Combi friend, know a lot about it. He is doing a new one at the moment 👏
