Maps.me sent us to wrong location and we ended up here. Just behind the Calimax is the city park. On one side is the Delegacion and Library (Biblioteca). While parked in front of the park, the mayor came out, introduced himself, and said no problem with us parking overnight and suggested in front of Biblioteca as it’d be quieter. Nice ice cream shop (Thrifty) near by, as well as the Calimax grocery, fish taco place in iOverlander (recommended by locals as well, but closed when we were there), and a great little hot dog place across from the fish taco place.
Very safe.
Bathrooms in park (5 pesos) say 7am - 7pm but it closed around 4 and opened around 8. There are actually outlets in the park for electricity as well, but we don’t need it.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Still a great place to park for the night. Quiet and seems very safe, especially because it’s right next to the police station. Very sweet people working the food stand and lots of families and children around. Good wifi at the home supply if you get close enough to the building.
Report Check-InNice, lively park with food, snacks, and drinks sold at stands and street vendors. School must be nearby as this seems to be the place they congregate before and after. Stayed one night with no issues. Parked right along the parque on corner of Calle B and Avenida Rosario Meza. Perfect for smaller to midsize rigs. I have a 26.5’ class c and it worked perfect! T-mobile/Telcel service worked great too.
