More of a boatyard/bar/party centre than anything else. It would not be quiet in the weekend! Very nice grassed areas by the river, but you can only camp in the car park (also grassed) 200m away. Mosquitos are a big problem in the carpark, even in the middle of the day. We came for 2 nights but only stayed for one. By the river is OK to sit, but only on the right, once you've sorted where you're "allowed" to be. No internet, one pool is full of trash and stagnant water, the other pool is not available to campers, only party guests.

Security is excellent, patrolled with high fences.

The owner, Mateo, is OK. I think he is much too busy with the boat business to care too much about you. When he's not too busy he'll take your money and tell you where you can't go. The vibe is not that friendly because, quite frankly, he has bigger fish to fry than to deal with the odd 1 or 2 campers that may turn up from time to time. The shower block is in disrepair, yet there is a brand new toilet only block next to the boat jetty. If Mateo was serious about being a campground he could have easily added shower facilities to this. The fact that he hasn't clearly demonstrates that he doesn't. This place really is nothing more than an "informal campground" and I will update it as such.

We would stay elsewhere but unfortunately are victims of the Vera Cruz - Yucatan gap. Coming from Pelanque there are virtually no proper campgrounds for 600km until Vera Cruz and after 2 Pemex's in a row we are fed up!

200Ps for 2 persons in a car camper, no hook-up.

very nice people, we stayed one night. we felt secure and welcomed. nice place, it should be nicer in better weather. clean restrooms and quiet place.

Report Check-In

Stayed just the one night, ok for a one nighter. Safe and secure.
Ask for a hombre called Mateo.
He lives in first house on the right as you enter, or you ask someone who is working around. People friendly. We saw peacocks roaming in the restaurant garden, so we restrained our dogs accordingly: peacocks and dogs have a different definition of fun. We have full cell coverage. You can get shore power here is you want it.

This place is closed due to renovation of the restaurant. When we drove up there was a nice cleaninglady wo called the owner. We were allowed to dry camp for 100 pppn. The showers/toilets were closed. WiFi was working quite well (see photo). Good spot to prepare your vehicle for shipping

Great spot! As described below however we were offered electricity and water hookups. But beware- the electricity was wired in reverse polarity which meant we were given a small electrical shock when we touched the metal door handle to our rv. Washrooms were of average Mexican standard of cleanliness. Showers worked but were cold (probably a good thing given the heat usually experienced in the area!) locked gate at night (the place also doubles as a boat storage yard so they have good security).

not a bad place if you don't know where to spend a night while waiting for the ferry, but nothing more
