Description

Great place to stop, if like us, you got stuck at dusk and didn’t make it to Puerto Viejo! Very friendly owners. Felt very safe here.

Large, gated and flat gravel parking lot in front of the cabinas for parking with trees and plants around, grass and trees beyond. Covered tables and spaces we used for outdoor cooking & sink we used to clean dishes. Power outlet available for hookup. 7,000 colones for both of us. Washroom available but no shower (unless you pay for a room). It’s right off the highway, so you will hear traffic, as well as frogs and crickets.

Rooms also available with private washroom, kitchenette and A/C for 13,000 colones and can sleep 3 (2 beds). Rooms are clean and comfortable looking, well maintained. We think we’re the first people to camp here, but she said more overlanders are welcome. We did not ask about tents, though there would be space on grassy areas.

Apparently malaria is an issue here, so keep yourself covered/ sprayed.

There are dogs on the property (we never saw them) so unsure if it would be pet friendly.

We paid 10000 for 3 adults, kinda expensive for what it is. The tables with roof are nice when it rains, but there were so many mosquitos that we had to flee inside the van.
Also, the bar next to the place played super loud music all night long (as in you can feel the vibrations ffrom
The bass inside your vehicle). Its not the fault of the owners here of course but that still sucked. When i asked the lady if she had wifi she just laughed and said no, even though there was a wifi network with their name showing up, so i dont know about that..

Didn't make it to the free beachfront parking closer to Panama. Stopped here as it was getting dark. Due to my oversize I parked in the fenced lot to the right of the building. No problems for oversize or overheight. Parked here with a 25' Class C towing a car. The lot has 2 dogs but they never approched me or my dog who I kept on leash. As it is so close to the road, it's loud and the dogs bark. Paid 5000, since I don't need her water or toilet. Very friendly, very good people, just loud.
