Nice camping at the bottom of the dunes.
Accessible also with 2WD and motorbikes (although be careful, as it’s a sand road)

The place is now private, like all the desert around Ica. See the point "The last wild place before Ica".
Report Check-InThis place is (now) private property: there is a fence around it and there are guards at the opposite side of the road, who told us we could not camp there. Instead, they told us, we could camp in any place without fences, which we did.
Until 19:00, there were about 6 vehicles on the road, and the first one around sunrise (5:30). Very quiet night in the middle of this huge sandbox.
Changed the GPS coordinates to the fence less spot.
(Further towards the ocean, there are many additional spots suitable for a one nighter in the desert.)
Report Check-InGreat spot, totally alone in the dunes. Though we're done with 4x4, the ground was firm for 2 wheel drive - just go with another vehicle to be safe. The only down side was having to drive though kms of trash, in fact just on the hill before getting here is a landfill, though once past it the desert is mostly pristine. We spent 2 nights here.
