They are currently closed for renovations until July.

Report Check-In

Lovely lush green place. The road noise from the trucks is a bit annoying but it's part of the valley road. Franco built everything himself on the property and it's comfortable and inviting. Including the pool. Great, clean toilets with paper and properly functioning hot showers. A well stocked kitchen and common room can be used whilst you stay here. We had a good time with hosts Franco and Melinda. Thank you for everything.

Report Check-In

Nice location with good facilities. Owners are lovely people and very helpful. Rather pay a bit more to stay at this beautiful spot than in town. Waterfalls on walking distance which is perfect!

Report Check-In

Really nice looking place, the tent camping areas are nice and private, covered with bbq spaces and chairs. It’s $8pp though, so we decided to pass on staying. The entrance is kind of scary to pull over on the highway with no shoulder on a curve to open the gate. I suggest calling ahead and asking them to open the gate before you get there. No big rigs for sure.

Report Check-In

Truly a awesome place. Super clean and everything well organized. You will feel the owners are Swiss and Australien. Super hot nice shower. A nice waterfall close by.

Report Check-In

This is for sure, the best place in Rio Verde to stay and rest, between Pailon del Diablo and the Cascada Mashay in the way to Puyo. The place has a fantastic infrastructure to camping in an authentic and beautiful jungle with beautiful trees and birds. It has a view tower and the people there are amazing. The bathrooms and the kitchen, clean and beautiful and this place is a paradise.

Report Check-In

entrance is in a fast curve ,u will have to wait for someone that (if) come open the gate.a volunteer there.asked $8pp with my camper??told him u can easily get a room for $15!!?infact he said he could give me one for that price and took it.confortable but u'll hear tuxks all night.curtain is a kind of see throu when lit up inside.lots of cute dogs around

Report Check-In

forgot to say: the place is now called el Quindo

Report Check-In

everything is as described in the comments. Very nice place and nice owners. Access might be a bit tricky for very big RV, but even with our Pickup without 4×4 it was not a problem

Report Check-In

Double & twin rooms en-suite. Great covered camping spots with electricity & bbq. Communal kitchen, large gardens with loads of bird life and 4 friendly dogs & 2 cats. On hot days enjoy the plunge pool with fresh mountain water. Mel bakes the best bread and delicious pastries and offers breakfast and basic meals. Easy access by bus from busy Baños for those without a vehicle and looking to connect with nature. Highly recommended!!

Report Check-In

Very nice people there. With our Sprinter it was narrow to enter and leave. So bigger rigs cannot turn around inside. Would be better you park outside and check the situation by yourself before you stuck inside.
The amenities very a little bit down. 12$ for a van and two persons little bit to much, but we needed a shower. Good for Bikers with a tent.
4-5 friendly dogs.

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a pretty and well equipped place. There is a bit of noise from the road but it did not impede us to relax in the hammocks. The access is fine for big vans but may be not for big RVs. We paid 12$ for 2pax + 1van, fair price for what you get.

Report Check-In

No sign of activity on a Monday morning. Very difficult access from the highway. Would not recommend for big rigs. We did not stay and moved on to just north of Puyo where we stayed at Los Copales.

Report Check-In

Impossible to Big Rigs, the same to big campers. Take care.

Report Check-In

Good place with a good energy. Yes, there are some noise from the road, less during the weekend, but not a lot during the night. Luis offer a service of landry at 2.5 $/kg. For Saturday and Sunday lunch, you can share an Argentine BBQ at 12$/pp. The waterfall Machay is near and worst to visite for 1$/pp. and you can swim in the pools. The Pailon del Diablo is a little far but worst to visite too. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

payd 12$ for camping car and one person . at all it was nice.

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed this place. Great common area with nice kitchen to use. Bathrooms and showers were clean, plenty of hot water. Wifi works good, and the camping area is nice and private. They have beer and food for sale if you like. The road noise didn’t bother us at all. 5 pp/pn

Report Check-In

It is true that we can ear the noise of the road at night. The parking is not flat. and it seems to be only one very small covered area for the tent. but the common area are very nice. and I had the best hot shower for 8 months in south of America. The camping is 15min (by foot) from 2 waterfalls. 5 dollars per person and per night

Report Check-In

WOW.....we cannot understand how none of the reviews mentioned the road noise!!!!
If you are camping definately bring your ear plugs; in the 14 months we have been travelling this place wins the prize for road noise. Yes it has nice, clean facilities as described, but it is 20 mtrs from one of the busiest roads and combined with all the "curves" all you hear is either " engine brakes" , or accelerating from trucks and busses......ontop of local cars and motorbikes with no exhausts.....and there is no quiet period, i.e. middle of the night!!
In a camper or their accomodstion it may be different.......You have been warned.

Report Check-In

Correction there are 3 showers so everything is great, a very nice campground.

Report Check-In

Great spot to overnight, cheap cocktails and very friendly operators and guests. No problem for getting our VW Eurovan camper into parking area. Couple of tight turns but vehicles up to 20-25 feet should be able to maneuver around corners if you are careful. $6 ppn. Only potential downside is there is only 1 shower for all guests but we’ll see how it goes in morning. Totally available this evening.

Report Check-In

This is the place when you can stay longer and much think to do around. We came for night and stay 3.... easy all you need and much better than Banos.

Report Check-In

It is open! But we were the only overlanders there for xmas :(
The place is nice, quiet and safe. It has a nice kitchen, common areas with big table and sofa, bathroom and showers super hot (I am not a fan of hot shower so it was a problem for me, is hard to find a balance lol). Good WiFi and power plugs if you have an extension.

Rio Verde and Paillon del Diablo is 15 min walking (to the left). From there you can catch a bus to Baños for 0,50 usd.

Machay waterfall is 5 min walking (to the right).

Report Check-In

Nice place, nice staff. Small entrance, not for motor homes. We managed to make the turn with our 22 ft RV though. 6$pp

Report Check-In

Door was closed, Nobody opend after ringing the bell several times. Looked as closed.

Report Check-In

Door was closed, Nobody opend after ringing the bell several times. Looked as closed.

Report Check-In

yes, great place. very friendly and welcoming. all the facilities any overlander could want. big rigs will struggle with the tight turns to get in. watch the shower heat - it's VERY hot, dangerous for unsupervised kids. $6pppn. Beers extra 😎

Report Check-In

They raised to $6/pp now. Internet is good, clean bathroom and hot shower. Sprinter size van can make it down, there is a tight turn, not sure about larger vehicles. Long cord needed for electricity.

Report Check-In

Very nice hostel with common area, kitchen, restrooms hot water and lounging spot. BBQ a little natural fresh water pool. Lots of tourist information. Luis, the manager, is very accommodating. A 5 min walk to Machay waterfall and 15-20 min walk to the Pilón del Diablo waterfall.
$10 per car per night. Parking area is small and unleveled but easy to level out. Average speed Wi-Fi depending on how many people are on the network. Electricity available in common areas or to your rig if you have a long extension cord.

Report Check-In

Gravel parking on property with room for 4-6 cars. Tight turn getting off the main road and into the lot. Very HOT showers with good pressure. Common area with large table, communal kitchen, ping-pong table and fridge with honor-system drinks. Ice cream also available for purchase. WiFi connection reaches all camping spots. Friendly hosts and good value. $10/vehicle.

Report Check-In

We arrived late and the camping was closed. We called but nobody came. We slept the first night in a parking lot near the camping. Next day we went there and the owner told us that he would receive a large group of people 2 days later. When this group arrived, people stayed drinking and with high music all day and until late at night. It was impossible to complain because the owner was there with them, drunker than everybody else. If you want a peaceful place to stay, you must ask him first if he is going to receive some group during the days you will be there. Besides that, it is a good camping, with hot shower and good price (5 dollars per person).

Report Check-In

Very good place to rest and stay near to nature. There is a precious climate and the people let you make yoursel like your home.

Report Check-In

Great host! Great place. Went for one night and stayed three. Everything was as told in the other comments. Fast wifi available even in the tent area, great common area with fully equipped kitchen, hot shower, friendly dogs. If I'm ever back at the area I'm surely staying here again.

Report Check-In

good spot but not really big rig friendly. tricky to enter and exit. maybe if they trim the trees back

Report Check-In

Very nice place, friendly people/ hoist.
Beautiful camp spots
Kitchen and dining room available for guests

Report Check-In

Très bel endroit et très confortable.

Report Check-In

Yep, paradise! Just 30 minutes from Banos. In Ecuador you can wake up to snow at Chimborazo and go to sleep on the jungle! Amazing! This place has proper hot showers, a kitchen, cheap bar and happy hour, several lounge areas, drinking water available, a place to handwash clothes, books to read, good Internet... The list goes on! No electricity at sites, but if you asked (and had one) you could probably run a cord. Plenty of places to plug in in the common areas though. Your dogs are welcome, and you will struggle to keep the ridiculously friendly resident pooch, mango, out of your camper - his tail wags so hard it threatens to knock him over! At $5pppn it's incredible value. A little escape from the panam. Bliss.

Report Check-In

It's open alright! Very nice place with everything you need. The Argentinian couple running it now also very nice

Report Check-In

this place is open and waiting for every overlander out there to visit!

Report Check-In

Hey everybody out there....we reached Paraiso.....and the place is regulary open ! The new (?) Owners doing well...everything is as nice than everybody told before.......still 5 Dollars p.P. want to stay one night....stayed three.....

Report Check-In

happy to report it's open again and basically paradise. super friendly argie couple now running it, we're here now and loving it

Report Check-In

Hi Everyone, due to handing over to new management, PP Camping is provisionally closed. Paperwork is a problem in this country but be assured this place will re-open very soon. Thank you.

Report Check-In

This place is DEFINITELY open. Sue was quite sad to hear that it was down as closing. She will be going back to the UK in Sepetmber but has someone lined up to take over. It is a great place to stay. You can always email from the website www.pprioverde.com.

Report Check-In

Din't count on this place anymore, we were turned away, been told is closing tomorrow.

Report Check-In

Excellent place, great view, pet friendly. Susan is not here, but a very nice couple of Argentinians are talking care of the place. Go to get a shower( hope is boiling!)

Report Check-In

Is a very nice place and is open. Sue is travelling, but his girl friend managed the place very well.

Report Check-In

We arrived to a very much locked gate. The signs are still up so we assume it isn't closed permanently. But there was definitely nobody around when we dropped by.

Report Check-In

Side info: Sue will sell the Finca and are currently looking for someone who is also into overlanding and care about the nature. Maybe one of you is interested to stay in beautiful Ecuador ;)

Report Check-In

It's open again and as described by all other overlanders. Sue is very welcoming and can help you for whatever you might ask for. The dogs are friendly and under perfect control of Sue. Enjoy your stay and don't miss the waterfalls!!

Report Check-In

Great place and really nice owner. Sue is one of her kind and takes so much trouble to ensure your are comfortable.. We couldn't park at designated place as it had rained a lot and looked soft so parked next to shed .. A little noisy from highway but not too bad as it got quiet later on. Had electricity, great hot shower and good wifi... Highly recommended and chat with Sue is truly special

Report Check-In

very nice place
Sue is wonderful
big rigs must stay up in a dedicate place

Report Check-In

Just check in to make the correction conserning the opening date.

Report Check-In

One of the nicest places to stay in Ecuador, hosted by the nice and funny Sue!
We just loved it and had a great time.

Report Check-In

Best hot shower south of the States. Also wifi that works in the rooms.

Report Check-In

Really nice place, it was one of the best overlander places we've stayed at. Sue is one of the nicest campground hosts we've met, very, very nice and generous. Internet was good, it could even stream Netflix as long as no one else was on. Hot water that lasted ages, and of course a variety of very nice dogs that may bark a lot during the day, but at night calm down. All in all, highly recommended.

Report Check-In

The best campsite I've stayed at in over two years of travel in South America. The place is beautiful and the communal area is fantastic. Good facilities including kitchen, good hot showers, lovely shades area for pitching and good wifi. You can organize a lot of cool activities from here and Sue will help you do this. There are really nice rooms from 15USD PP there too and a spotless, airy dorm. Very good value. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Really beautiful campsite with good facilities. Only downside is that it is close to the busy road. Laundry service that was previously mentioned is expensive $3.5 per kg

Report Check-In

Good place. All overlanderbrasil das about here. Recomended!!!

Report Check-In

Ross and Jenny loved this place and made two visits of 9 days, great facilities as indicated below. Sue is running the place solo now, and doing a super job. Come visit!

Report Check-In

This place is not bir-rig friendly. You can only park behind a gate next to the road, spend your day in the lodge and your night in your camper. We drove back to a parking place in Banos. (Garage Kumho)

Report Check-In

very great place to stay. Susana is very lovely and she makes you feel you are at home. dogs are very welcome.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for ages....too good to leave. All the comments below apply. If you arrive late and the gate is closed (Sue closes it at sunset) honk your car horn and hit the metal gong hanging on the gatepost with the hammer provided, that will set the dogs barking and Sue will know you are waiting.

Report Check-In

go there, check out the place, you wont be disapointed. we stayed 4 days and had a lot of fun. hot showers and good wifi. big RV's, be careful, on rainy days the ground can be very soft. talk to Sue first, before you drive in.

Report Check-In

By far the best place we've stayed at this past year! Beautiful place, awesome shared space with a huge kitchen. Fast wifi and lovely dogs.
That being said, it's worth going there just to meet Sue who is such a wonderful person. We spent three nights there and it was hard to leave...
You HAVE to stay at the Pequeño Paraiso if you plan on going to Baños.

Report Check-In

Wonderfull place and campsite. Awesome showers, fast Wi-Fi, Nice and clean common area with a full equipped kitchen. The owners Su and Mark are very friendly. You can really feel the nature while are here! USD 10,00 per car.

Report Check-In

$10 per car. Great place like all comments below mention. However we times our visit with 2 big commercial overland trucks, so it was very busy. Sue and Mark were great. If you have a long extension cord electricity is a available.

Report Check-In

wunderfull place with extremely nice owners! very very hot showers with a lot of water😄

Report Check-In

What a wonderful place to relax for a few days. Marc and sue make you feel right at home. There are plenty of activities to do around or in banos that sue can arrange for you. They have 2 friendly dogs. There are dorms or separate rooms to rent or camp in or out of your truck. There are hammocks to chill out and a big area to hang out including a tv. Also a well stocked kitchen and drinks available to buy( soft drinks, wine, beer). There is a pool, laundry service and a place to diy. Also electricity and fast wifi. Clean bathrooms and scorching hot showers. 15-20 minute walk to waterfalls. Plenty of space to camp, $ 10 for 2 camping in truck, we paid $20 for family of 5 p/night. Half an hour bus ride to Banos 50c . Recommend!!

Report Check-In

Sue and Marc are so nice, we had a great time here. Don't go with a havy truck down on the place, we get stucked!

Report Check-In

A very nice place with a lot of birds. And Sue and Mark are so nice people. It was interesting to see al the short films Mark is producing.

Report Check-In

This may simply look like a nice campground at first, but it's also an adventure sports hub, puppy training facility, overlanding central, and backyard film studio, that feels like home. Sue and Marc are an amazingly inspiring couple who know South America from head to toe. Don't expect to stay here only one day. Southbound the entrance may be hard to spot. If you miss it make a u-turn before the tunnel, and you'll see the sign on the right and a metal gate, after a curve or two. Be patient when you ring the bell/hit the metal, since Marc has to run uphill to open it.

Report Check-In

The Nicest people I have met So far. They took me in like family. Planned to stay for 2 nights and stayed for over two weeks. Marc and Sue have made new spots for overlanders So there is plenty of room in quiet spots. Very very very recommended

Report Check-In

So glad that we found this place (the new sign outside was a help). Everything you need to rest and relax is here, plus lots of activities and areas to explore are nearby. Also, Sue and Marc have a new parking / camping area on offer so the road noise is less of an issue. We paid $5 per adult and $2 for our 6-year-old son to camp in our van. We stayed for 4 nights and slept soundly every night! As our son said, "This is the nicest campground that we have stayed at in a long time!"

Report Check-In

Great place for overlanders. Sue and Marc are great. The place where we parked is close to the road and a bit noisy, but defenitly a great place to spend some days. Is is pet friendly. USD 10 per car.

Report Check-In

$10 a vehicle. Amazing property and owners. Dog friendly. Shared kitchen, hot showers, electric plug-in. Close to several great hikes, Machay and Diablo waterfalls.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot with tons of fruit trees, a swimming pool, a fully stocked kitchen and great owners. Only a couple spots for truck campers, and we were left right next to the highway which wasn't ideal traffic noise was fairly loud. Walking distance to waterfalls but 20 minutes by bus to Banos. 5 dollars per person.

Report Check-In

You can park on a small grassy spot close to the tent camping area. The owners are really nice and can give you some tipps for activities in Banos.

Price:10 USD

Report Check-In

A very overlanding-friendly place run by two ex-professional overlanding tour operators. Has all the amenities you could want - a big grill, a cozy common area and plenty of places to pitch a tent, covered and uncovered. Sue can help you arrange any number of activities nearby. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Lovely gardens in campsite with hot showers, kitchen/inside area, wifi. Small campers can park in gardens, big campers in truck park – area by orchard. Electricity and water in both areas. Marc and Sue both English speaking ex overland truck drivers very friendly and can arrange canyoning and white water rafting. Bus into Banos takes 20 minutes and 50c. Highly recommended. Cost $10 per night.
