close to St. George Utah but in Arizona. pleanty of roads and space . Much better option than the near by industrial zone (inside st george city limits) put east river road in GPS. next to UT 7. many options as you drive down this road.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Just like the person below said, continue down county rd 5 until you cross a cattle guard and that's when BLM land starts. Look for when the state trust lands signs stop. Found a decent level site to stay for one night, but ugh so so much trash. Eventually ended up just sleeping at the Cracker Barrel on nights we didn't feel like making the drive to Leeds Canyon. It was alright for a night.
Report Check-InArrived here and drove the ~4 miles to BLM. Camped on the east side of BLM 1069 on BLM 1979 about 100 yards in. The site was a bit trashy but big enough for a van & my A-liner & F150. The road was a little rough going in but no problem. Verizon and AT&T were weak but useable. BLM 1069 road is also the access road to Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument.
Report Check-InNothing special, but a perfect spot to stop for a night when passing through St George.
Report Check-InImmediately off of UT Hwy 7 turn south on County Road 5 is Arizona Trust Land which requires a permit. Continue down CR 5 and you will enter BLM dispersed camping. Plenty of places to camp for 14 days.
All services that are needed for long term dispersed camping are available right there in St. George.
Nelsons RV has a 24-7 dump station and potable water absolutely FREE.
Quiet. Flat. Dark. (my kind of night)... A few people up here during the weekend.
No problems in my 38 foot rig.
Lots of room. Put out all my slides. No problem.
(Better than hanging out at the Walmart ;) )
This is Arizona Trust land, not BLM. you need to obtain a permit which is very easy and cheap. 20 bucks for a family for 12 months, good at all trust land anywhere in Arizona. obtain the permit online and they will email it to you. The camping here is great. Close to St. George. Good Verizon, flat spots, OHV trails close by. Sadly garbage all around left from people shooting and just plain lazy people.
Report Check-InWas a quiet night, many flatter spots. The gps point here is blocked by construction crew but there are plenty of other spots around.
Report Check-InArrived here after looking for any decent option near town, quiet, easy to access, full service on Verizon, and a fire pit. For easy access to town and good cell phone signal this is great for overnight!
