Description

(2/2022) No electricity - hot/warm water for only about one person to have a shower, no WiFi. Price 7.500 per person. Nice view but too expensive for the offered amenities.

Recently opened Glamping site (tents with beds and chimney, WiFi and breakfast included, for 25000). The common rooms (super living room, small kitchen for those bringing camping stove), WC and showers are spotless and beautifully decorated. Electricity and Wifi only when generator runs (between 7-1130 and 1900-2330). No WiFi but you can hotspot from the owner, Mario, if you’re desperate. 7500clp per person.
The views of Cerro Castillo are astonishing! (Please check the pics).

The facility looked like it had been ransacked and abandoned

Report Check-In

Tried to spend a night here as the other reviews looked great. The entrance was very difficult to find and the road to it overgrown. Once we found it the building appeared to be abandoned. The common area was in rough shape, looked like it had been damaged/ransacked. Did not stay here

Report Check-In

One of our favorite campsites along the carretera austral! The camping has gorgeous views and isn’t too busy making it almost feel like wildcamping. The bathroom and shower were clean and hot. Small area inside and outside to cook. Best part for us was the common living room with beautiful views and relaxing chairs and couches to spend an evening.

Report Check-In

You pay 7500 per person for the view, the facilities didn't justify the price. In theory a nice place but no internet, no electricity and the water was sandy and brown during our stay. Water temperature in the shower switched from freezing cold to burning hot.

Beautiful location. Not completely open it seems (no power and hot water) but lovely nonetheless. Paid 5000 pp for a night.

Report Check-In

Unfortunately, the owner said he got robbed and he is closed for these days.

Report Check-In

Great camping to relax after the hike to the Laguna, hot water and toilets, very nice shared space and friendly dogs make it a worthwhile visit.

Report Check-In

Echo previous comments. Great facilities, great view, great people. Must do the Cerro Castillo walk - the campsite will hire walking poles which are helpful.

Report Check-In

Great place! Stayed 2 nights with our mini campervan (big campers also possible) on the open field with a beautiful view on the mountains. There is also wind protection for (roof)tents by some bushes and trees. No additions to what has been said below. No WiFi!

Beautiful! 2nd night here. Perfect place to relax after your walk and enjoy the views.

Great place, super friendly owner Mario, beautiful environment and cozy living room to hang out.
It doesn’t get any better.
6000 pesos pp.

Absolutely gorgeous. We just stopped over for one night but the facilities were incredible after weeks on the road with no hot showers and we wished we could stay for longer. Between 7:30 and 11:30pm we could have a hot shower, use the running water and toilets, same times in the morning, as it all runs of a generator. We spent the evening in the communal living room looking out onto the landscape as the clouds rolled in. Best facilities we’ve had so far on this trip and well worth the 6000 per person. Also, Mario has a very cute black puppy. We stayed here in our campervan, but there are some boujie bell-style tents already set up that you can pay to stay in.

Great place, great view. Owner nice and friendly, speaks English, and grilled everyone some meat. Place for our camper van is no problem. 6000 a night, no WiFi at all. Short walk to the mega beautiful day hike (which unfortunately costs 18000 per person 😵)

A very nice camping with a graet view of Cerro Castillo right from the guest room. The bathroom are spotless. The owner (Mario) was very helpfull and friendly.we paid 6000 chp pp . Highly Recommended !!!

Stayed here for 2 days. Very nice owner. Gives you advices. If water or electricity is needed in between he starts the generator. Also possible to fill our water tank. 6000 pp. Comfortable tents are also available. The living room has a winter garden and warms up very fast with nice view on the Cerro Castillo. Very recommended.

Great spot. we stayed in the yurt for one night (40,000clp) and camped one night (6,000pp).
the owner is super nice and helpful in a non-invasive way. he speaks really good English. the whole place is nicely decorated, the common area is the best we have seen on the carretera with amazing views and a large window, gives it a very friendly atmosphere. showers are actually hot, the place is clean. recommend it.

What a wonderful place, with magnificent views of Cerro Castillo, just from the living room even. Mario is really nice, makes sure everybody is ok and comfortable. They also have here 2 glamping tents big and comfortable, but also lots of place for your tent or campervan. It is hot water in the showers in the mornings and evenings, wifi is fine, when you tell them they put it on. We have enjoyed our stay here very much.

Perfect place for refueling yourself. We stayed here for two nights. The owner is very helpful and there is a good vibe. The view on the Cerro Castillo is amazing! You can camp for 6000pp. We took the Yurt for 25.000pp. That includes a big breakfast with real coffee. And the owner enlightened our wood stove in the Yurt for warm and cozy nights. Definitely would visit again!

Report Check-In

excellent camping run by Mario a world traveler, you can put your tent for 6,000 or there is luxury glamping for 25,000. it's all been said below but the stars at night and the views are amazing and mario is super kind and knowledgeable about the area.

Nice spot, we turned up let ourselves in - no one here not even the owner. We camped anyway. Toilets and showers, and water turned off.

Report Check-In

they already upped their price to 6000clp pp. electricity and wifi only when generator runs, from 7p-1130p and same hours in the morning. wifi barely usable. not much space in the common area.

Report Check-In

This place is awesome! It has a great view from the living room with glass front. Cozy and warm place to spend a lazy day inside and recoveries from an amazing trek around Cerro Castillo. Everything is perfectly clean and lovely decorated.
They have just a tiny little place to cook with your own stove and running water is only available when the generator is running. But then the showers are the best! If you have to leave early, just let the staff know and electricity will be turned on for you! Anyway Mario is very kind, helpful and wants everyone to have a pleasant stay. Especially he doesn't want to let the place be overcrowded. Therefore it might be a good idea to call there and ask for vacancy before you make the last climb from the village over the hill by bike ;)

Fantastic place for a stay. You can camp with you camper/tent as well. Beautiful common area, small kitchen and nice, clean bathrooms and showers. Mario is super helpful and can offer mountain guidance and tons of info in addition to his warm hospitality.

Report Check-In

Mario asked me to update the info: it is 25.000 per person for a nice dome shaped tent including breakfast (20.000 ex breakfast). If you have your own tent or camper/car you can stay for 6.000 pp ( if they have enough space). That said okau is a gorgeous, unique place. The views are priceless. Everything is super clean and nicely decorated. The tents are really cool, some with single beds and some matrimonium.

Very nice campsite! Lovely common room and very clean spaces. Warm showers. Wifi is a bit temperamental but who cares with the views to Cerro Castillo! Mario is super helpful.

Agua caliente y WiFi

Recently opened Glamping site (tents with beds and chimney for 25000). The common room (super living room, small kitchen for those bringing camping stove). WC and showers (HOT!) are spotless. WiFi works (using it right now). Nico and Mario made an exception with our camper because they are just getting started and only charged us 5000 pp.
