Description

Large car park by the beach, plenty of space, no amenities, access to beach. It may be the only spot around the area to camp nicely, as there’s a lot of private beach hut areas with no space for camping or beach access.
We parked on the far east side of the car park, only fishermen came in the evening, gathering some mussels.
There are some shops or souvenir stalls on the west side, horse and camel riding. So it could be quite lively over the weekends.

Latest Check-Ins

It’s private beach houses. They agreed that I could stay there 1 night, which I stretched to 2 nights. Quiet at the beach, parked next to a house, no one bothered me. Good place with my dog. The 2 nights was really the maximum I could stay .... I had to do a bit of effort to get in. But after the military escort, this was the only spot mentioned on i Overlander that seemed quiet.

French Beach is private. The parking is called Engro beach and it is quit busy with beggars and donkey, camel and horse-ride selkers, and dirty. The sea has weird colors, I would not stick as much as a finger in it.

We got permission to stay one night at French Beach, but I think this is an exception.
