Something not right?

Description

Great place. Oasis among the hills. Spectacular ride doable slowly by 2wd (approaching from North, Pinal de Amoles, ~25km, 2h drive). Road gets narrow sometimes but not much traffic. at the end there's river crossing, nothing difficult, 1-1.5ft deep. Definitely worth it for the views. Prices unfortunately like for oasis. 250mxn for setting a tent 😏

Be aware that this place is not open all the time! Don't drive there hoping you will find it open.

If I understood correctly, to camp in your own vehicle now costs MX $300 per person or MX $1000 with breakfast and dinner.

Re the drive to San JoaquĂn, I made it ok in my rwd Chevy Astro. The potentially challenging bits are a river crossing not long after leaving Bucareli, which was no more than a foot or so deep when I crossed in mid-January but can apparently rise significantly after rain, and a couple of kms driving along a dry river bed just after that, which is quite rocky. Doable in dry conditions, a higher-clearance vehicle would have made it easier. From then on there are some steepish sections but generally the road is fine, at least when dry. Superb views as stated, probably even more dramatic if heading from San JoaquĂn to Bucareli, which would be mostly downhill. Tougher on the brakes though!

Incredible spot. Highly recommended. As stated by OP 250MX but we'll worth it.

If you come from San Joaquin, (much better views) (28kms south) is recomended 4WD have done it in my Tacoma, and a 1200GS, the road gets very narrow and slippery at times so no Big Rigs, specially douring and right after rain seasson. ask the locals if the river crossing is posible and check for weather conditions cause its a fast flood area.
