Colombia
Calm place to stay, 30k COP for two in a van. Clean toilets, cold shower (warm maybe on request). Pet friendly. Probably Wifi, very good cell service. Offered to make breakfast for you if you like.
Rooms on Hostelworld are still only 15-20$.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Last stayed here in 2017. The price has doubled to 35000 per person.
Report Check-InI think the place is now called Villa de Venecia. We were looking for a place to stay without being hassled and to work a bit. Very good LTE reception with claro and they have WiFi, too (didn't ask for password though).
New clean bathroom (only cold shower). The younger lady at first offered to open a room for us for hot showers but then the older one interjected and said no. We didn't care enough to argue.
They have two very friendly mini dogs (don't know how they are called) and an aggressive male cat (only applicable if you have a male cat, too, ours got bitten).
Great if you look for a quiet place to stay. If you want to visit Salento better drive there with your own car, street parking is relatively easy during the week.
Report Check-InEasy to find as per iOverlander. Charged 15,000pp no breakfast. Use of camp kitchen included. Banos cleanish, up until Sunday but slow to clean after weekend crowd. Locals a bit to noisy as usual, but if you park at end of accommodation building a bit quieter. Very little road noise as set back from main road.
Report Check-InThe only place an overlander would want to stay around Salento. Tons of space to camp, hot showers, and decent wifi. The owners are great and the included breakfast is one of the better hostel free meals I've had. They also own La Sierra and Luciērnaga up in Salento. Road to the hostel is a little rough but one of the workers has a very low clearance car and I've seen him come and go with it a few times, just be careful.
Report Check-InAwesome spot. It's so refreshing to stay at a place that doesn't count how many times you use the bathroom or care if you drive on their grass ;) Usually 18k per person including breakfast but we opted out of the breakfast so it was 15k per person. You can walk to Salento on a trail through the mountains (about 40min). We were also able to leave our car here while we did a trek in Los Nevados. Great place!
Report Check-In18k/p camping, they also have tent and cabana sites. very beautiful view overlooking the valley. washer and dryer 7k/kilo
Report Check-InDifficult to find a levelled space (if you are the second vehicle arriving and the best spot is taken). Really nice owners, much les expensive for the same comfort as serana camping. We paid 18.000 pp breakfast included. Hot showers, excellent wifi, really nice and welcoming place to stay!
Report Check-InVery nice stay and perfect place! A lot of animals, dogs, cows, goats and free horses on the area. Perfect view to a valley and the river. Price for Overlander with vehicle, including elec.at side is 22k per night and person incl. breakfast.
Report Check-InBeware that price for rooms has increased substantially. Rooms are now $25-35. rooms are very basic... converted horse stalls, most with shared bathrooms. Very expensive for what you get. it is a very nice location though.
Report Check-InGreat place! Mike is a really cool guy. Paid 15,000 COP for camping with breakfast included.
A little difficult to find via most GPS's. The entrance is located at 4°38'26.36"N 75°35'01.16"W . From the main road the entrance is to the south east of the bridge over Rio Quinidio. It's on the 2nd curve away from the river with a sign and a yellow flag. This dirt road ends at the Finca
Wonderfull farm and very quiet at night. The best kitchen of our trip. Good Wi-Fi. Easy location. Free coffe for gests all day. Hot and clean showers. Good place to stay a week our more.
Report Check-InWonderful finca. Great wifi. Room for a couple of small to medium rigs to park, although property is very big, not sure how many rigs they would allow. It is more set up as a hotel, but they welcome overlanders to stay. I bought fresh milk from farmers every morning at 7am. One of the best properties we've stayed at during our trip. Only downside is that not much is walkable. Need to use bus or drive into solento.
Report Check-InThey are on airbnb. Check them out. Same owner as La Serana in salento. But much more spacious and new. Rooms are only $15-20. Camping 10000 cop with hot showers wifi in main building very nice kitchen. 10 minute drive from salento. Great alternative if looking for a quieter more remote spot next to river cows and horses.
