Description

Turtle hatchery: unassuming place and not advertised...yet. We had a verbal presentation in Spanish and got to release 40 turtles by ourselves. We did this in Todos Santos and there were 100s of people...couldn’t enjoy it. This was a great place to experience it.

We camped here also, and in the morning around 6:30, released another 100! If you walk the beach at night, you will see turtles laying eggs as well.

They said all year long, but best is Nov-Mar.

Highly recommend, volunteers only, so donation appreciated. Well worth 50-100 pesos pp.

We came here around 4:30 PM, luckily a nest was hatching, so we were able to witness the birth of babies. We were able to release 2 turtles. A great experience! Only regret, we would have liked to watch the turtles get out of the sand longer and see the turtles all go back to the sea together rather than paying 150 pesos per turtle released...

Unforgettable experience. We released baby turtles for 150 pesos per person. Starting at 17h. In the evening we patrolled with them for 3 hours for 600 pesos per person. We saw turtles laying eggs and collected the eggs. Nice pairing

Everything is still accurate! Still a small operation, so please donate!

Camping at Playa Palmarito with its miles of great beach and a turtle hatchery. You can camp at their parking lot with ocean view or go 0,5 mi east where you find a palapa and a parking lot. There seems to be the building of houses or hotels in progress, so the road you take from the main road looks like to enter a resort which is very slow going in the region. In the night we patrolled the beach but did not see a turtle. Main turtle nesting season is from August to November.

What an AMAZING, INCREDIBLE experience. It’s by donation and although there are some tour groups forming it felt very exclusive. We were able to release 5 turtles ourselves at the 6pm release. You can also volunteer from 9pm to 2am however he recommends doing so during the turtle season.
