Something not right?

Description

Parking along Bay Street. No restrictions from 6pm to 8am, then 2 hours. More or less even. Just to stay the night. There were 7 other campers, so it seems to be no problems. Wifi in some spots from 'Bay Club Guests'. No amenities. Maybe during daytime a restroom in the public library at Chestnut St. at the other side of the sports fields. Small dog park on site.

If it's full, you can look around the blocks or Bay Street up to Fort Manson. In the park is a restroom open 8am - 5pm, it's only 1/4 mile / 400 m away.

Latest Check-Ins

Stayed one night. Got there late and had a hard time finding a spot anywhere nearby but got lucky with this place. Road noise is expected, not fun but not too disruptive for us. Woke up to street sweeper. Saw a couple other vans but it seems like this is for the apartments across the street. Solid place to park.

“If your car is able to get broken into, it will” - -a local. Really be aware of this throughout the city but don’t let it scare you away from everything. Stay safe!

Report Check-In

Perfect location for the night, try not to get there too late, like before 9-10pm to make sure to have a spot.
Could park my 170 sprinter in the angle parling, there is a small curb to stop your back wheel, but some of them are broken so you can get back further and completely out of the street without interfering in the bike lane. I suppose it would be easy to just drive the back wheel over the curb anyway. 144s, promasters will fit no problem.
Go park at the marina for the day before 10 for free day parking

Report Check-In

We parked our van here during the day without any issues. Felt safe.

Report Check-In

très bon emplacement
Le fait d arriver à 16h nous a permis d avoir une place
les transports en commun sont proches pour aller se balader
à notre retour vers 19h, il n y avait plus de place
match de base-ball à proximité... sympa
calme la nuit

Report Check-In

As previously noted by others, it’s a convenient place to car camp for the night. I spent 2 nights without incident. Took my dog to the nearby dog park, grocery shopped and used the restroom at Safeway, and got coffee at Starbucks.

Report Check-In

Quiet, non eventful. I see a short Sorinter in the diagonal parking on south side of street (park side) I’m in parallel parking due to length on north side. Minimal traffic noise, people getting in and out of cars.

Report Check-In

Stealth camped here 3 nights, arrive after 6pm and always left by 10am. It was a great "home base" while we spent 3 days exploring San Francisco.

Report Check-In

Very nice and convenient spot. We spent 2 nights here without any problems. From Friday evening to Sunday morning. Close to shoreline, bars, pubs etc.

Report Check-In

Stayed two nights without any issues. Beyond just normal light traffic at night no real noise. Wasn’t to many open spots when I was finding mine. Close to lots of things to do

Report Check-In

Great spot for vehicles <24’. Small dog park in the park.

Report Check-In

Used to park daily for a few months till it got to me. Good location but the con is the unhoused drug addicted drama, ie knocking on my van door at 4am. Another time there was an agressive one smashing building windows.

Report Check-In

Spots here but only big enough for regular vehicle. Definitely doesn’t work if you’re towing a camper or if you’re an rv or Skoolie. Maybe you could squeeze in a larger van? Angle parking and it’s not level, on a hill and our parking break wouldn’t hold so moved on

Report Check-In

I parked 3 nights 15.16.17 feb. along Filmore corner Marina Blvd.
2 minutes from Bay st. Had no problem despite the 2h permitted during the day. Otherwise no parking restriction at night. For light sleepers the bus runs regularly on Filmore. I drive a motorhome B+

Report Check-In

We stayed here two nights so far and it has been good. I would recommend ear plugs because of the cars driving by and the people walking around talking. Our truck with truck camper is around 24’ long and it just fits.. any longer and it would stick out.

Report Check-In

As advertised. A great spot for overnights in SF. I stayed here on 3 non-consecutive nights. One night a homeless woman was continuously yelling nearby, so I just moved down to another spot farther away. I use ear plugs while sleeping, and slept soundly each night.

Report Check-In

It was as described by others and no problems staying the night. I did feel a little bit self conscious about possibly taking a spot needed by a resident when I woke up and saw there were no empty spaces. When I arrived there were lots.

Report Check-In

Got here around 7pm and left at 8am. Not very level but pretty quiet aside from some light traffic noise. Lots of other vans and cars parked overnight. As a solo female traveler I felt pretty safe here after looking at several other spots around the bay area.

Report Check-In

Overnighted here in a class b. Quiet and safe. Great spot to catch some zzzz’s. Got coffee and a ham & cheese croissant at Equator Coffee at Fort Mason Center in the AM.

Report Check-In

Lots of spots, with about 5 other campers here. Surprisingly quiet at night for being on a big street. Felt very safe alone here. Would stay again. Safeway is down the street, also there are public bathrooms on the far side of the park that open in the morning.

Report Check-In

Free parking for evenings/nights, no time limit. 8am is when the 2hr limit begins. We parked a 24ft van here, anything longer will not fit. Surprisingly very quiet at night. Beautiful neighborhood. Make sure to see a sunrise at Golden Gate, you can walk three block to a pretty marina to the see the bridge and Alcatraz.

Report Check-In

Great place to park in San Francisco, mostly back in spots so best for van/camper. Rolled in a couple hours after dark and over the next hour when spots opened another van or RV parked, probably about 5 every night and couple people sleeping in their cars. Left by 8am to the marina just down the street for bathrooms and free day parking. Highly recommend.

Report Check-In

This is a really good area for overnight staying close to the downtown! Just find some spot to park your car along the streets around the sport fields or behind Safeway.

Report Check-In

One of the easier spots to boondock in San Francisco! got here late, woke up at 10am Sunday morning and got going. I'll totally sleep here again!

Report Check-In

Very quiet for one night . Stay discret.

Report Check-In

Parked here one night so far in our converted ford E250 van. One of many free parking areas available in this area. We parked right along the park, got here at around 9 PM and stayed until just after 9 am. Street traffic was a little noisy at first but was surprisingly quiet all night, was able to see the wifi network but didn't work inside the van with reflectix up.

In the morning we did the boondocker migration to the Marina and parked alongside the other vans and sprinters for free parking and wifi during the day.

Overall a solid place to sleep and would definitely recommend!
